Passage to Ponder "Therefore, since through God's mercy we have this min- istry, we do not lose heart. Rather, we have renounced secret and shameful ways; we do not use deception, nor do we distort the word of God. On the contrary, by setting forth the truth plain- ly we commend ourselves to everyone's conscience in the sight of God. And even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing. The god of this age has blinded the minds of unbelievers, so that they cannot see the light of the gospel that displays the glory of Christ, who is the image of God." (2 Corinthians 4:1-4, NIV ). Help yourself to "FREE FOOD" and may God Bless all of you. I was just sitting here think- ing about all the goings on in the world today. Starting with this virus. Maybe the Holy Spirit is telling me that this could be one of the seals men- tioned in Revelations in the Bible; that God is sending a warning to all people of earth, to pick up their cross and start following Jesus Christ, and if we don't, we're in for a bumpy ride (to say the least). "Yea, I walk through the valley of the 'shadow' of death, I will fear no evil. For you are with me, your rod and your staff, they comfort me" (Psalms 23:4). Listen to what God is try- ing to tell us about the "shad- ows." I believe these things. These are a "Shadow" of the things that were to come. Co- lossians 2—Things like pes- tilence, lies, violence in our streets, world leaders prepar- ing their weapons for war, and all kinds of abominations. We are living in the "Shad- ows" today. For it is written, "As I live says the LORD ev- ery knee shall bow, and every tongue shall confess to God. So each of us shall give an ac- count of himself to the LORD" (Romans 14:11-12). Main Street Petersburg 812-354-6775 Sunday morning worship service at 10 :30 a.m. A Season for Celebration Throughout the holiday season, celebrations will take place. Most of those celebra- tions take our minds off the busyness of life. Some of those celebrations will focus on fam- ily, friends and faith, unfortu- nately, in that order. Putting God first assures us of His presence and His power to be with us. For many, celebration brings smiles and laughter. For others, it is a reminder of loss, a time of depression and sometimes despair. The Good News, at least in part, is that God recognizes our need, and through the Messiah whose coming we celebrate, He meets those needs. If we will allow Him, He wonder- fully lifts us up and out of the cares of this world, including the loss of loved ones, nega- tive emotions, and He restores meaning and purpose to life. Much of our outlook depends on our focus. The Bible teach- es us clearly that Jesus bears our burdens. In fact, He teach- es us in Matthew's Gospel, to seek first God's kingdom and His righteousness, and our ev- ery need will be met. This season reminds us to look to Jesus. He is the epito- me of love and life. Reach out and touch some- one today with His love and the life He offers. I'm Dennis Randall and I'm all about Jesus. Worship with us this Sunday. Dennis Randall, Minister 941-730 -6324 life to Jesus Christ, so you can walk through these shad- ows without fear of any evil"— Amen. Jesus said, "Zacchae- us, come down immediately. I must stay at your home today." Whether it's our hearts, re- lationships, or lives that need mending, like Zacchaeus, we can have hope. Jesus will nev- er reject us when we turn to Him. He can restore what's been lost and broken and give our lives new meaning and purpose. What relationships in your life can Jesus help restore? What will it mean for you to be restored by Him? "Jesus, thank You for seek- ing me when I was lost in sin and for redeeming my messed- up life"—Amen. So many trials come into our lives and along with the business of life. These things can easily choke out the Life of God in us.
