NEWS! 812-354-8500 DARLENE MAE DOERNER Darlene Mae (Holder) Doerner, 80, of Somerville, passed away Saturday, No- vember 27, 2021, at Deacon- ess Gateway Hospital in New- burgh. She was born September 3, 1941, to parents, Haskel E. Holder and Sophia Sarah (Butcher) Holder. She married her high school sweetheart, Ronald Lee Doerner, on October 15, 1960, in Mackey. They were blessed with 59 years togeth- er before his passing on Febru- ary 23, 2020. She was a Mack- ey High School graduate and worked for over 25 years as a CNA. She loved her family dearly, especially her grand- children and great-grandchil- dren. She was loved by many and will never be forgotten. She is survived by her sons, Brett (Debbie) Doerner, of Spurgeon, and Mike Doern- er, of Coe; son-in-law, Ronald Green, Jr.; 12 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; sib- lings-in-law, Barbara Holder, Arletta Holder, Richard and Delores Doerner, Lester and Terry Doerner, Patty Vaughn, and Teresa Motley; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; chil- dren, Sherry (Doerner) Green and Mark Doerner; grand- daughter, Krystal (Doerner) Maier; great-grandson, Noah Green; siblings, Jan Gregory, Gerald Holder, Darvin Hold- er and Billy Holder; an infant sister, Donna K. Holder; and grandson-in-law, Joe Eller- bruck. A Celebration of Life will be at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Decem- ber 5, 2021, at Somerville Wes- leyan Church, with Reverend David Brandon officiating. A burial of ashes will be at a lat- er date at Townsley Cemetery in Mackey. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until service time on Sun- day at the church. PERRY Ryan S. Perry, 44, of Prince- ton, passed away Tuesday, No- vember 23, 2021, at St. Vincent Hospital in Evansville. He was born June 17, 1977, in Oakland City, to Jack and Kathy (Teeters) Perry. He had been a Qualified Intellectual Disabilities Pro- fessional, having worked at Stone Belt in Bloomington for 10 years. He had lived in Princeton until 2002 and moved to Bloomington, then moved back to Princeton in 2015. He formerly belonged the IBEW in Evansville, and enjoyed working on cars and computers. He enjoyed spend- ing time with his family and loved to watch Michael Jordan play basketball. He is survived by his wife, Brittany Perry, of Princeton; children, Alyssa Perry, Ryan (Brooklyn) Perry, Jr., Blade Perry and Evaline Perry, all of Princeton; father and step- mother, Jack and Janet Perry, of Princeton; brother, John (Kimmi) Perry, of Princeton; three grandchildren; father- in-law, Robert Burner, of Pato- ka; and mother-in-law, Cathy Trinkle, of Crawfordsville. He was preceded in death by his mother, Kathy (Tee- ters) Perry, on November 8, 2021; infant brother, Shad Mi- chael Lee; grandparents, How- ard and Evaline Teeters, and Lewis and Emma Jane Perry. A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Decem- ber 4, 2021, at the Colvin Fu- neral Home in Princeton, with Elder James Wilkerson offici- ating. The Colvin Funer- al Home is honored to serve Ryan's family. MARILYNN LORENA MEYER Marilynn Lorena Meyer, 80, passed away Tuesday, Novem- ber 23, 2021. She was born September 4, 1941, in Pike County to the late Arthur C. and Christine (Mann) Fuhrman. She graduated from Otwell High School, Class of 1959. She graduated from Patri- cia Stevens Finishing School in Chicago. She married the love of her life, Richard "Dick" Meyer, on June 1, 1960. She had worked at The Fair Store, L.S. Ayres, Kohl's and Needles Three Craft Store. She was an active member of St. John's Lutheran Church for 61 years, where she served as a Stephen Minister, sang in the choir, was a past council member, Mary Circle pres- ident, Altar Guild volunteer and worked many hours on the kitchen committee. Her active involvement in vari- ous clubs included Onward and Upward Home Extension Club, Heavenly Crafters, Ho- ly Hookers Stitchery Club and Library Crafters Club. As her children grew up, she support- ed their activities by being a Girl Scout leader and helped with 4-H Club. She and Rich- ard were boosters for Madison Heights basketball and band, and were IU basketball boost- ers. In her later years, she par- ticipated in the 4-H County Fair, where she received var- ious awards for her beautiful cross-stitching. She was a fan of the Colts and a NASCAR fan of Jeff Gordon. In her spare time, she enjoyed reading, cre- ating craft projects and visits with her grandchildren. She is survived by her chil- dren, Cynthia "Cindy" Stone and Alan "Scott" ( Julie) Mey- er; grandchildren, Amanda Key, Brittany Meyer, Caro- line Stone, Claire Stone, Evan Stone, Ansley Painter, Makay- la Meyer and Alexander Mey- er; great-grandchildren, Zoe Shihemi, Miley Key, Delyla Meyer, Miyana Thompson, Emmalynn Painter and Sam- uel Painter; brothers, Ronald (Sue) Fuhrrman and Roger Fuhrman; brother-in-law, Bob Shoobridge; sister-in-law, Car- ol (Meyer) Lincks; brother-in- law, Tom Lincks; special fam- ily, Scott Stone; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband of 41 years, Dick Meyer; sister, Mar- tha Jane Shoobridge; broth- er, Robert Fuhrman; sisters- in-law, Melanie and Nancy Fuhrman; nieces, Kim Shoo- bridge and Vicki Shoobridge Herring; and nephew, Joseph Fuhrman. Memorial Hospital and Health Care Cen- ter offers support to assist those who have experienced the loss of a child (conception to one month of age) through the grieving process, and provide an atmosphere of confiden- tiality and comfort. Grief Support Series-The death of a loved one, a child leaving home, overwhelming changes in one's personal life – each can cause profound grief and suffering. To offer reas- surance and comfort, Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center has developed a free support program called "Grief Support Series." In this program, participants will learn that grief is nor- mal, examine the various emotions of grief, be encouraged to face the pain, and find ways to make a healthy emotional withdrawal from the loss. Conducting the sessions will be Theresa O'Bryan, Hospital Chaplain, and Tom Holsworth, a clinical psychologist who has served as a co-facilitator of this program since its inception in 1991. Daviess County Right to Life Paper Drive-Dec. 4 will be the last paper drive. The Daviess Co. Right to Life Pa- per Drives started back in 1978 and have been going every two months since then, but because of the low volume of newsprint available for recycling, it is time to shut it down. We will continue to have Aluminum Can Drives every two months until further notice. Help us get the word out and thanks to all for your help over the years and we still can use you with the Can Drives. This is a free event with free cookies and crafts. Bring your camera and take a photo with Santa. BUDDY LEE MCCORMICK Buddy Lee McCormick, 94, passed away November 25, 2021, in Washington. He was born June 17, 1927, to Fred and Opal (Fettinger) McCormick in Cato. He proudly served in the United States Navy during World War II. He was a life- long member of the Peters- burg Main Street Presbyteri- an Church, the American Le- gion, Bird Hunters Club and the United Mine Workers As- sociation. He assisted in build- ing the Prides Creek Golf Course in Petersburg. He is survived by his son, Terry (Peggy) McCormick; daughter, Sue Hill Martin; grandchildren, Beth (Tim) McMillen, Eric (Karla) Hill, Matthew (Heather) Hill, and Asa and Isaac McCormick; six great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth "Bet- ty" McCormick; his parents; a brother, Merle McCormick; and a sister, June McCormick. Services will be at 2 p.m. EST on Friday, December 3, 2021, at Harris Funeral Home in Petersburg, with Pastor Ron Ficklin officiating. Burial will follow at Pleasant Ridge Cem- etery. Harris Funeral Home is en- trusted with his care. LISA (ROBLING) MILLER Lisa (Robling) Miller, 58, of Petersburg, entered rest on Thursday, Nov. 25, 2021, at Jewish Hospital in Louis- ville, Ky. She was born on June 5, 1963, in Washington, to Er- mil (Doc) and Linda (Hale) Robling. She was a kind-hearted woman of the Lord and loved her family. She loved being outdoors, was very passionate about her Koi fish pond, rid- ing the side-by-side and AT V with her kids, riding the mo- torcycle, and taking the back roads with her daughter and son. She loved the Lord and would write songs to sing for his glory. She was preceded in death by her parents; and sister, Sheryl Foster. She is survived by her hus- band of 45 years, Steven Mill- er, whom she married on Feb. 27, 1982; children, Jessica (Casey) Ashby, Noah Jacob Miller, Lakelyn Rain Miller and Steven Wyatt Miller; two grandchildren; brother, Jon Robling; sisters, Debbie Cole- man and Tricia Lamar, of Pe- tersburg. Services will take place at 11 a.m. EST on Thursday, Dec. 2, 2021, at the Lamb-Bash- am Memorial Chapel, with Rev. Gene Burkhart officiat- ing. Burial will follow in Wil- lis Cemetery, near Willisville. Visitation will be from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. EST on Wednesday and from 9 a.m. until service time on Thursday at the chap- el. Family and friends may send messages of comfort to www.lambbasham.com. FR ANCIS CLEYBOURN STERLING Francis "Frank" Cleybourn Sterling, 84, passed away No- vember 24, 2021, in Evans- ville. He was born April 8, 1937, in Shoals, to Fielding and Minnie (Rowe) Sterling. He served in the United States Navy and was aboard ship on the USS Perkins, USS Uhlmann, USS Henry B Wil- son and USS Wiltsie. He was a Vietnam Veteran who served seven tours in Vietnam and re- ceived many accolades of med- als. He retired from the Na- vy as a Company Command- er in August 1975, serving 22 years. He returned home to Southwestern Indiana with his beautiful wife, whom he met and fell in love with while serving our country, and their daughter. He worked at Kim- ball International and was a security guard at Jasper En- gines and Transmissions in Jasper. He was a member of the American Legion #121 in Washington, VFW #3587 in Petersburg, Honor Flight of Southwestern Indiana Mis- sion 9 in August 2018, a mem- ber of Blue Star Mothers of Southwestern Indiana and Purple Dad for Prince Ar- my Indiana. With his love for music, he decided to form a band, "The Country Rebels," with his friends. In later years, he played his harmonica with friends in nursing homes and played karaoke. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Genevieve Ster- ling; daughter, Carmen Ster- ling; son, Frank Watkins; grandsons, Jeffrey Francis (Crystal) Decker and James Gerald (LeAnna) Decker; 10 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchil- dren. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Don- ald Sterling; and sisters, Mary Jane Doane, Ernestine Earl and Barbara Frey. A Celebration of Life will take place at a later date.
