Born in Blacksburg, she was the widow of Joseph Landrum Hamrick and the daughter of the late Robert Young "RY" Wisher and Lillie Owens Wisher. Mrs. Hamrick is survived by her daughters, Deborah Ramsey Davis of Blacksburg and Susan Ramsey Eng (Robert) of Kings Mountain, NC; two grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; and her sisters, Barbara Gunn (David) and Gloria McClain. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents and her brothers Vardell, Buford, Dean, Leroy and Lloyd Wisher, and her sis- ters Georgia Earls Runyans, Lucille Myers and Dorothy Duncan Wood. The family will receive friends on Thursday, November 18th, 2021, from 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm at Gordon Mortuary, 400 West Cherokee Street, Blacksburg, South Carolina 29702. Funeral services were held November 19, 2021 at New Life Family Worship Center, Kings Mountain, NC with Dr. Robert W. Eng III officiat- ing. CYNTHIA DIANE CURTIS Cynthia Diane Curtis, 50, of Lawndale, passed away on Sunday, November 7, 2021. Born in Rowan County, on August 28, 1971, she was the daughter of the late Thomas Curtis and Hazel Broadway Waugh. Survivors include one daughter, Megan Ikerd and husband David of Lawndale; three step sisters, Carla Sopala of Claremont, Kathy Townsend and Billie Walker both of Newton; and her fian- ce, Rick Towery. Arrangements have been entrusted to Stamey-Tysinger Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Inc., Fallston, NC. DEBRA LYNN HARTRUM Debra Lynn Hartrum of Shelby, NC, passed away on November 12, 2021. Debbi is survived by her husband, Kerry Hartrum; sons, Kris, Dustin, Adam, and Jameson Hartrum; two grand- sons; sisters: Pam Ryan, Sondra Cooper-Gullion, and Lynda Zivalich; and father, Frank Cooper. Preceding her in death is her mother, Frances Cruise and her brothers Charles "Chip" Gordon and Frank Cooper Jr. Debbi was born September 9, 1956, in Würzburg, Germany to Frank Cooper and Francis Bowers. BRENDA KENNEDY BAILEY Mrs. Brenda Kennedy Bailey, 72, of Blacksburg, SC, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, November 16, 2021. Born in Nashua, New Hampshire, she was the widow of Donald Bailey and daughter of the late Archibald Kennedy and Lillian Bernice Johnson Kennedy. She was preceded in death by her sons; Dana and Todd Gilman; and brothers, James and Dennis Kennedy. She is survived by her son; Edwin Gilman of Blacksburg, her daughters; Heidi Childers of Blacksburg, Candace Gilman (Greg Kinlaw) of Blacksburg, Julie Britt, of Tar Heel, NC, Tara Moss (Robbie) of Blacksburg and Crystal Foley of Cameron NC. Funeral services were held November 20, 2021 at Gordon Mortuary, Blacksburg, SC. Burial will be at a later date. RICHARD ARTHUR BROMM Richard Arthur Bromm, 36, of Blacksburg, SC, passed away Monday, November 15, 2021. Born in Middletown, CT, he was the son of the David Arthur Bromm and Merry Atkinson Williams. In addition to his mother and father, Mr. Bromm is sur- vived by three sisters, April Houle, Jessica Bromm, and Tracey Houle; his step-father, Leo Williams; two step-sisters, Gina Williams and Tracia Barnett; and one step-brother, Leo Williams III. No services are planned at the present time. DAN MITCHELL HOUSER Dan Mitchell Houser, 85, of Vale, passed away on Monday, November 15, 2021. Born in Cleveland County on June 9, 1936, he was a son of the late Arch Houser and Hattie Hoyle Houser. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by five brothers, Bud Houser, Tilson Houser, Ted Houser, Jack Houser and Gene Houser and one sister, Elaine Matthews. Survivors include his wife, Judy Rebecca Parker Houser; one son, Mitchell Wade Houser and wife, Deborah of Connelly Springs; three grandchildren; and two great grandchildren. The funeral service was held November 19, 2021 at Zion Hill Baptist Church with Rev. Allan Barlow officiating. The burial followed the service in the church cemetery. Contact Us Stand Up For Jesus Group A Cleveland County Event The Stand Up For Jesus group is planning a "Stand Up For Jesus" event on December 5th at the Shelby High School Stadium OUR MISSION/PURPOSE IS: 1. To PRAISE JESUS and say HIS NAME out loud! 2. To have people accept Jesus as their Lord and Savior. 3. To promote churches in our county - allow them to share their purpose and ministry. 4. Demonstrate the passion of worship. OUR PLANNED PROGRAM IS: • 1:00pm - 2:00pm - Allow churches to set up a table/tent on the track and allow churches to share their purpose/ministry and prayers with attendants. • 2:00pm - 3:30pm - Singing to worship Jesus. Video testimonies about how Jesus has touched our lives. We would love to have a church member volunteer their testimony. We will then hear fi ve ministers sharing for 10 minutes each. • 3:30 - Altar Call for people who have accepted Jesus as Lord and Savior today! We need your churches to have some representatives to pray with new believers, and invite them to your churches and follow up with new believers. • 4:00 - Go Home. We would ask that you pray that this event will impact people to accept Jesus and worship him going forward.
