Costner's Christmas Lights Extravaganza, a magnificent display of Christmas lights formerly owned by Grady and Katie Costner, and the Mayor's Downtown Fantasy Light Show will come alive Wednesday, November 24th. To celebrate, the public is invited to Patri- ots Park to attend a spe- cial tree lighting ceremony and the lighting of one of Grady and Katie's most revered light displays, the carrousel. The ceremony will begin at 6:00 pm. The public is encouraged to at- tend this special ceremony. " G r a d y C o s t n e r ' s craftsmanship for creat- ing Christmas displays was amazing," says Mayor Scott Neisler. "We are thrilled to add the carrou- sel to the park this year. The City of Kings Mountain will present "Home for Christ- mas" Parade, December 4, at 3:00 pm in downtown Kings Mountain. The parade will line-up at 2:00 pm on East Gold Street near Mountain Rest Cemetery, proceed down- town and turn right on up Main Street (South Battle- ground Avenue) and right on US 74 near the over- head bridge on King Street and disband on South Deal Street. Over 100 entries are expected for this special parade, including the Kings Mountain High School Marching Mountaineers, Mayor Scott Neisler, City of Kings Mountain's City Manager and Elected Of- ficials, Cleveland County Commissioners, Catawba County Shrine Club's Gator Patrol, and the jolly ole elf himself, Santa Claus. Kings Mountain native and 96.9 Kat Country's own Sarah Lee Owensby will serve as Grand Marshal. The Christmas Parade will impact various roads beginning on Gold Street at the intersection of High- way 161; west down Battle- ground Avenue (216); east on 74 Business then south on Deal St. Motorists are urged to use extreme cau- tion while traveling through Kings Mountain. While vehicles will not be allowed, spectators are encouraged to take chairs or stand along the parade route.
