Ronald Eugene Gillespie, Sr., of Shelby, went home to be with his Heavenly Father on November 4, 2021 at the age of 75. He was born in Gaston County, NC to the late William and Louise Gillespie on March 14, 1946. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister Donna; and a brother, Richard. Survivors include his wife, Phyllis Hord Gillespie; brother, Larry Gillespie; sis- ter, Glenda Durham; son, Eugene Gillespie and his wife Melissa; son, Phillip Gillespie and his wife Traci; daughter, Michelle Goodson and her husband Kent; and five grandsons. Born December 14, 1933, in Lincolnton, NC he was the son of the late Dewey and Lena Lewis of Lincolnton. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his wife, Doris Jean Parker Lewis. He is survived by his daughter, Shannon Lewis Webster of Cherryville; and two sisters, Ruby Morton of Clover, SC and Mary Tucker of Lincolnton.
