Ronald Eugene Gillespie, Sr., of Shelby, went home to be with his Heavenly Father on November 4, 2021 at the age of 75. He was born in Gaston County, NC to the late William and Louise Gillespie on March 14, 1946. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister Donna; and a brother, Richard. Survivors include his wife, Phyllis Hord Gillespie; brother, Larry Gillespie; sis- ter, Glenda Durham; son, Eugene Gillespie and his wife Melissa; son, Phillip Gillespie and his wife Traci; daughter, Michelle Goodson and her husband Kent; and five grandsons. A Memorial Service was held at Rock Springs Baptist Church November 7, 2021 officiated by Pastor Jody McGaha. Born December 14, 1933, in Lincolnton, NC he was the son of the late Dewey and Lena Lewis of Lincolnton. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his wife, Doris Jean Parker Lewis. He is survived by his daughter, Shannon Lewis Webster of Cherryville; and two sisters, Ruby Morton of Clover, SC and Mary Tucker of Lincolnton. Mr. Lewis served our country in the U.S. Army and also in the reserves. A graveside ser- vice was held November 9, 2021 at Friendly Chapel Baptist Church with the Rev. Wayne Key officiating. Helen was born Monday, February 16, 1942 in Rutherford County to the late John Thomas Harris and Bessie Lee Mitchell Harris. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Lucille Hicks and a brother, Carl "Bud" Harris. She is survived by her hus- band, Richard LePage; chil- dren, Teresa Smith of Union Mills, Reggie Smith (Kim) of Harris, Ronnie Smith (Tammy) of Morganton, Sherry Smith (Roger) of Ellenboro, Deborah Crowe (Daniel) of Cincinnati, Ohio and Barbie Davis of Shelby; three sisters, Creola Jones (Casey) of Harris, Pansy McCraw of Harris and Paulette Smith (Kurt) of Ellenboro; and seventeen grandchildren, thirty-one great grandchildren and one great-great grandchildren. Jessica was survived by her husband, Roger Dale Sansing of the home; her children, Roger Sansing Jr. of Shelby, NC, and Kristal Reagan and husband Rich of Benson, NC; seven grandchildren; two brothers, JC Walker of Casar, NC and Wayne Walker, of Casar, NC; and a sister, Edith Brackett of Polkville, NC. Born February 5, 1948 in Casar, NC, Jessica was the daughter of the late Joseph Cletus Walker and Nettie Davis Walker and was pre- ceded in death by three brothers, Worth Walker, Paul Walker, Pink Walker, and two sisters, Ruth Cook and Dean Toney. He was also preceded in death by his two broth- ers, Farrell Thackerson and McClure Thackerson as well as his sister, Joyce Floyd.
