Poplar Street, Petersburg NEWS BRIEFS Winslow flushing hydrants now November 18-19 The Winslow Street Dept. is planning to flush fire hy- drants on Thursday and Friday, November 18 and 19. This has been postponed one week in observation of Veterans Day. Flushing the hydrants gets sediment out of the lines and can cause temporary discoloration of the water. Town officials said Winslow water customers should avoid wash- ing light-colored clothes on those days. Blue Jean Center to host Sunday dinner Nov. 21 The Blue Jeans Community Center in Monroe City will host Sunday dinner, November 21 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. The menu will include: Ham, salisbury steak, mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, peas and carrots, apple salad, roll, dessert and drink. Carry-outs available. All proceeds benefit the center.
