The Daily Star, Oneonta, N.Y., Friday, November 12, 2021 20 By Dana Simpson TV Media 'Baskin' in limelight: TV viewers are excited because Netflix announced back in September that a second sea- son of one of its most popular and memorable reality series would be returning to the streamer. That's right, Exoti- cists and Baskinites, "Tiger King: Murder, Mayhem and Madness" returns on Wednesday, Nov. 17, and this time they're promising even more meaty details. The series first captured at- tention with its March 2020 release, with Netflix reporting it "attracted 64 million households in the first four weeks after its ... premiere." Just as everyone was settling into their brand-new quaran- tine routines, subscribers of the popular streamer had a new show to keep them com- pany. Complete with drama, mystery and, of course, tigers, fans were enamored with the rival big cat-collecting zoo- keepers, and rumors quickly began swirling around lead- ing lady Carole Baskin's in- volvement in the still-un- solved 1997 disappearance of her husband, Don Lewis. Now back for Season 2, "Ti- ger King" producer Rebecca Chaiklin hinted that the "fol- low-up" could be "just as dra- matic and just as colorful as what has unfolded these past few years." Once again featuring animal lover Baskin, who claims to want to stop the sale of exotic cats, and Joe Maldonado-Pas- sage, better known as Joe Ex- otic, who once paid an employ- ee $3,000 to kill Baskin and was subsequently sentenced to 22 years in jail, word has it Season 2 is likely to center on the fate of the rivals' zoos. With a large portion of the footage shot during the mak- ing of Season 1 (considering Joe Exotic's current inmate sta- tus), fans of the fascinating se- ries can expect to see some elaboration and possible solu- tions to the various controver- sies, rumors and feuds from the show's premiere season. (This means Jeff Lowe and his wife, Lauren, are also likely to reap- pear this time around.) realtalk Joe Exotic stars in Season 2 of "Tiger King" B/The Pine Shop 6x7.5 Holiday Lay Away Available!!!
