Chiropractors work hand-inhand with you, your employer, and the insurance company to return you back to work, all without the need for drugs or surgery. After being injured, many worker's report to their local hospital system because that is where their employer sends them. Unfortunately, this is not always the best care for the injured worker, as many medical systems have signed contracts with the employer to control costs for the employer, and push the worker through their own in-house medical team of doctors. This system has become so successful in recent years, that there are now "work injury" doctors. I am not aware that a work injury is different than a "regular injury", but the Doctor's title sounds impressive. Injuries at work can be a confusing time for many people. The pain of the injury, lost income and the worry about their health becomes overriding concerns. Patient's are not aware that Chiropractors are the Doctor of choice for work injuries due to their natural approach to healing. The Chiropractor offers a unique and separate approach to returning you to work, something that cannot be found at a medical office. Study after study has proven that patient's seeking Chiropractic care experience less surgeries, have less injections, experience quicker return to work times, and have lower cost bills versus medical treatment for similar work injuries. However, the patient must self decide to visit a Chiropractor, as few medical doctors will refer a work injury patient to a Chiropractor. In addition, many insurance company "adjusters" will tell the patient that they are not allowed to see a Chiropractor as the patient already has a Doctor, which is untrue. In the State of Wisconsin, an injured worker has their own choice of two doctors to seek care from. This is in addition to their employer's choice of doctor. If you have been injured at work and are looking for a better way to heal, without prescriptions and other invasive procedures, it may be time to call a Chiropractor. Saturday, July 6 Newburg What: Bird Banding for the MAPS program Where: Riveredge Nature Center, 4458 Highway Y. When: 7-10 a.m. Cost: Free. Contact: Mary Holleback at 416-1224 to register. Newburg What: Nature Detectives: Swamp Beast Quest Please call Tammie, 262-306-5007 • or Dave, 262-306-5042 to inquire on any of the above routes!
