Repeatedly in the Bible, both nations and individuals had to make decisions affect- ing their futures, and so do we. Sometimes they made wrong choices and suffered the con- sequences as a result. When we face decisions, we need to remember that God hasn't left us in the dark, nor is He un- interested. God loves us, and He wants what is best for us. He has a perfect path in life for us, and He wants us to choose it instead of the wrong paths. Satan would tempt us to follow, even when our way seems un- clear. God gives us light. He gives us His Word, the Bible, and many of our decisions would be much easier if we on- ly knew its moral and spiritu- al principles. He also gives us wisdom (sometimes through other people) to understand our situation and He gave us the Holy Spirit to guide us. If at any time you have no church to attend, feel free to join us for services. Your pres- ence will be appreciated and I'm sure you will feel the bless- ing of God. We have been hav- ing some very spirit filled ser- vices. May God bless each and ev- eryone. Jerry "Tuffy" Blackwell, Pastor Sharon Kendall, Reporter WINSLOW G.B. CHURCH 600 E. Mark Wade, Deacon FIRST CHRISTIAN CHURCH 1400 E. Main Street Petersburg 812-354-6775 Sunday morning worship service at 10 :30 a.m. There's Just Something Lookin' for Love Inherent within every per- son is the need to be loved. Several years ago, country artist Johnny Lee recorded a number one song entitled, "Lookin' for Love in All the Wrong Places." The song was also featured in the popular movie "Urban Cowboy." Unfortunately, while the song was a major hit for Lee, it sadly epitomized a signifi- cant portion of his life. Johnny Lee was not alone in his plight. There are many today, including some of you reading this article, who des- perately need to love and be loved. But, like the song, have been looking in all the wrong places. Life and relationships are fragile. The continuing high percentages of divorce, cou- pled with the fact that many in today's world fear commit- ted relationships, emphasizes the need for more than a fleet- ing kind of love. There is good news, howev- er. The source of real love is VINCENT CHRISTIAN CHURCH 8264 E. And I will give them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my Fa- ther's hand" ( John 10 :27-28). Because He Lives. Dr. Robert Asa, Minister Church Note Deadline 10 a.m. Tuesday found in God. Not only is He the source of love, but He has clearly defined what true love is through His Son Jesus. "For God so loved the world that He gave His only Son…" John 3:16 True love is God's love. The Bi- ble records this kind of love as agape. This kind of love is self- less. This kind of love always puts the need of others ahead of self. This kind of love is pa- tient, kind, not envious, not boastful, not driven by pride, not rude, and keeps no record of wrongs (I Corinthians 13). You're welcome to worship with us this Sunday at 10 :30 a.m. We want to show you this love in God's Word and share His love through our lives. I'm all about Jesus…and His love for me and you.
