Tehama Assembly of God
Tucked away in the tiny town of Tehama sits the Tehama Assembly of God, built
in 1876. The modest, classic wood-crafted place of prayer has withstood the test
of time and flourishes in its community.
According to its website, for more than 100 years Tehama Assembly of God has
preached the gospel and the word of God.
It all began when Jonnie Franks held her prayer meetings in various homes in the
community. A small group secured the use of the church located on the corners
of Third and D streets in Tehama to hold its services.
Numbers of attendees grew and regular services were held. Many years later, in
1955 property was purchased next door to the church and plans were made to
build the parsonage.
