Born in Birmingham, AL on November 29, 1950, she was the daughter of the late Clarence and Catherine South. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, John 'Jay' Hardy III. She is survived by her son, Lee Collins; daughter Christie Martin (Matthew); two grandchildren; stepson, John Hardy IV; stepdaugh- ter, Melissa (David) Altman; three step-grandchildren; a step-great grandchild; sib- lings, Jerry South (Ming), Robbie South, and Bonnie Payne (Benny). A native of Cleveland County, she is the daughter of Sherry Hiland Parton of Clover, and the late Melvin Watson.
