Ryker Schmitt spells the word "knock" using shav- ing cream during a spelling station. Third grade students: Ava Kessen, Sadie Williams and Wesley Adams use shaving cream to practice writing their spelling words. A few Spell Bowl team members pose for a photo at the end of practice. They are (l to r): Alba Hay, Kylee Query, Gage Meadors (most team spirit), Ava Crews and Kyndall McCutchan. Brycen Stillwell made 200 percent of his AR goal in Ms. Stone's class. Third grader Addison Cox uses cereal to make an array during a Math lesson. Ayda Wright, from Mrs. Elliott's third grade class, brought in a seashell for show and tell. She earned this privilege for earning 25 dojo points. Nine third grade students read at home for 20 min- utes or more each night in September. They chose a book for their prize. Front row: Aubrey Sturgeon, An- son Luff and Rylee Nelson; back row: Jocilyn Woos- ley, Cheyenne Doades, Bristal Grubb, Josie Hill, Paisley Collins and Alayah Willis. Otwell Miller Academy third graders dive into their new dictionaries. These dictionaries contain basic history such as a listing of every president, the braille alphabet, the sign for each letter of American Sign Language, the solar system and symbols for elements. Third grader Jocelyn Woosley was the first one in class to reach her AR Goal! She was awarded with a soft drink to enjoy at lunch! A group of the 2nd grade boys stop and listen for instruction as Brody Smith gets ready for his turn to catch a throw from Mr. Padgett at recess. Rhett Houtsch goes long to catch a throw at recess from Mr. Padgett. Anson Luff proudly shows off his AR record sheet after passing his AR goal. Each year, the Petersburg and Winslow Lions dis- tribute dictionaries to all third graders in Pike Coun- ty.
