Third grader Addison Cox uses cereal to make an array during a Math lesson. Ayda Wright, from Mrs. Elliott's third grade class, brought in a seashell for show and tell. She earned this privilege for earning 25 dojo points. Nine third grade students read at home for 20 min- utes or more each night in September. They chose a book for their prize. Otwell Miller Academy third graders dive into their new dictionaries. These dictionaries contain basic history such as a listing of every president, the braille alphabet, the sign for each letter of American Sign Language, the solar system and symbols for elements. Third grader Jocelyn Woosley was the first one in class to reach her AR Goal! She was awarded with a soft drink to enjoy at lunch! A group of the 2nd grade boys stop and listen for instruction as Brody Smith gets ready for his turn to catch a throw from Mr. Padgett at recess. Each year, the Petersburg and Winslow Lions dis- tribute dictionaries to all third graders in Pike Coun- ty.
