Another free hot dogs, chips, and soda event is set for the museum on Saturday, Oct. 9 from 9am until 3pm. Forest City's Mayor Steve Holland will be on hand, along with other dignitaries, for an 11am ribbon cutting at the newly reopened and reorganized museum. Kids get in free and adults are fi ve dollars to tour the museum. The museum features equipment, tools, photos and printed material from the more than 200 years farmers have been cultivating and harvesting crops in Rutherford County. North Carolina Department of Transportation continues its work on the widening of Oak Street Extension and a section of Piney Ridge Road, Forest City. Recently crews were busy paving parts of Piney Ridge Road and building curbing and sidewalks along Oak Street Extension. The project is in conjunction with the Town of Forest City and will eventually lead to sidewalks from Oak Street Extension to Broadway Street. Will it ever end?
