William Lee Bumgardner, 86, of Kings Mountain, passed away Thursday, September 16, 2021 at his home. Born in Cleveland County on July 29, 1935, he was the son of the late Austin Bumgardner and Nell Rice Crocker. Rev. Bumgardner served our country in the U.S. Airforce during the Korean Conflict. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Phyllis Champion. Survivors include his wife, Betti Dean Hoyle Bumgardner; two sons, David Bumgardner and wife, Diane of Forest City and Rob Bumgardner and wife, Alah of Raleigh; five grand- children, two step grand- children, four great-grand- children and four step great grandchildren. A Celebration of Life Service was held on Sunday, September 19, 2021 at Bethlehem Baptist Church with the Rev. Steve Fletcher, Rev. James Hamrick and Dr. Steve Taylor officiating. The burial followed the service at Mountain Rest Cemetery. MARY ANN STAMEY CANIPE Mary Ann Stamey Canipe, 85, of Lawndale, passed away on Friday, September 10th, 2021. Born in Cleveland County, on March 28, 1936, she was a daughter of the late John Evans Stamey and Ruby Oveda Poston Stamey. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Russell Andrew Canipe; brother, John Evans Stamey, Jr.; and following her mother in death, Lisa Canipe-Moss. She is survived by her son-in-law Jeremy Moss of Lawndale; brother, Dennis Stamey and wife Shirley of Cherryville; sister-in-law, Janette Canipe. A graveside service was held at Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church Cemetery, September 20, 2021 with the Revs. Chad Martin and Matthew Stamey officiating. LINDA HUMPHRIES FRADY Linda Humphries Frady, 72, of Camps Creek Community and a Cleveland County native, passed away on Tuesday, September 7, 2021 at her residence. She was the daughter of the late Emmitt and Verla Humphries. In addition, she was preceded in death by her son, Tad Frady. Surviving are a brother, Stephen Humphries (Debbie - deceased); sister, Wanda Womack (Johny). A Memorial Service will be announced and held at a later date due to COVID. Allen was the son of Ray Marshall Sparks and Frances Baynard Carringan. In addition to his daugh- ters, Ryleigh Jade Sparks of Ruther Glen, Virginia, and Kinley Ann Sparks, of Boiling Springs, North Carolina and parents he is survived by his wife Gwen Hutto Sparks and brother Kyle Sparks. She was born on August 18, 1978 in Cleveland, NC to Linda Darnell Perry (Roscoe Perry) and Ronald Davenport. She was preceded in death by her paternal grand- parents and maternal grand- father and a great grand- mother. In addition to her par- ents, she leaves to cher- ish her memory to her three children, MonDarius Black, MonDrevius Black and Diamond McDowell all of Shelby, NC; one grand- daughter; two sisters, Jalisa Perry of Cary, NC and Dejanria Boulware of Austell, GA; one brother, Jarrick Homesley of Grover, NC; and paternal great- grandmother. MINNIE RUTH ELLIS Ms. Minnie Ruth Ellis, 73, of Shelby, NC passed away on Wednesday, September 1, 2021. She was born on January 8, 1948 in Cherokee County, SC to the late Abraham Ellis and the late Hannah Roberts Ellis.
