Born in Burke County, on March 10, 1941, she was a daughter of the late Darling Odell Lail and Nettie Hildebran Lail. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by three brothers, Arthur Lail, Ted Lail and wife, Bonnie and Luther Lail and wife, Joyce; sister, Nancy Carswell; and two brothers-in-law, Jack Smart and Clarence Hildebran. She is survived by her husband, Billy Ray Wellmon; son, Jacob Wellmon and wife, Kristie of Casar; two grandchildren; two broth- ers, Clyde Lail and Hubert Lail and wife, Lovena all of Connelly Springs; three sis- ters, Suzie Smart of Hickory, Frances Hildebran and Dorothy Wellman and hus- band, Wayne all of Connelly Springs; sister-in-law, Brenda Lail of Hickory; and brother- in-law Dennis Carswell of Connelly Springs. The funeral service was held September 14, 2021 at Morris Memorial Baptist Church with the Dr. Chris Emory officiating. The burial followed the service in the Rose Hill Memorial Park. She was born January 29, 1975 in Gaston County, daughter of Charles Ray and Sherry Lynn Heavner Trammell. In addition to her parents, Shellie is survived by her sons, Christian Scott Jones (Haley), and Daniel Jones; brother, Bo Trammelll; maternal grandmother; and her fiancé, Mike Lowery and his daughter, Brooke Lowery. A celebration of Shellie's life was held August 21, 2021 at Carpenter-Porter Funeral and Cremation Services with Rev. Bobby Holtsclaw offici- ating. Burial was private.
