She has been in this role since March 2013, about eight and a half years, and in that time has increased community engagement and expanded the variety of events hosted by the organization. She gave her notice on Thursday, August 26. Tricia is a talented potter and has accepted a position at Clay King in Spartanburg, SC. Clay King is a rapidly growing national and international online supplier of pottery equipment and supplies. She will be joining their sales and customer service team while managing their retail space, setting up a gallery space, and teaching. During her tenure with the Uptown Shelby Association, Tricia's creativity, resourcefulness, and pragmatism were integral to the success of countless Uptown Shelby events and projects. Scott Sharp, the Uptown Shelby Association's board president said, "When you think of Uptown Shelby, you think of Tricia and her smiling face. We are blessed to have her enthusiasm and love of promoting uptown Shelby for the last 8-1/2 years. Tricia will be truly missed but I wish her all the best in new career." "Tricia has brought her spirit of fun and generosity to our organization and our Uptown family. In addition to her offi ce hours, Tricia worked tirelessly on many nights and weekends to ensure the success of countless Uptown Shelby events, activities, and projects," commented USA Executive Director Audrey Whetten Godfrey. "She is an ardent cheerleader for local businesses, artists, and musicians, and has poured her heart and soul into Uptown Shelby. We're deeply grateful for all of her hard work over the last eight and a half years. We will miss her, and wish her all the best in her new position." The Uptown Shelby Association Board of Directors is in the process of reviewing the duties of the Events and Marketing Manager position and looks forward to accepting applications once the review is completed.
