A native of Cleveland County, she was the daugh- ter of the late Floyd and Beatrice Hardin Butler. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Pharis Greene; brother, Darrell Butler; and sister, Sheila Spurling. She is survived by her sons, Gerald Lail of Shelby, Chad Lail and wife, Angela and Donavon Lail and wife Jenny, both of Kings Mountain; step-children, Chris Greene and wife, Joan of Greenville, SC, Scott Greene and wife, Sharon of Franklinton and Sondra Lowery and husband, Kim of Rutherfordton; brothers, Keith Butler and wife, Gail and Garland Butler and wife, Becky, both of Shelby; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. A native of Cleveland County, she was the daugh- ter of the late Oscar Lee and Ocie Cooper Bridges. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Ray Hoyle. She is survived by her significant other, David Allen Hudson, of the home; broth- er, Dennis Hope (Jody), Kings Mountain, NC; daugh- ters: Pamela Ann Cooper (Randall), Gastonia, NC and Denise Wyte Gantt (Brandon Moss), Bessemer City, NC; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Mr. James "June" Porter, Jr., 84, of Shelby, NC passed away on Tuesday, August 24, 2021. He was born on July 12, 1937 in Spartanburg, SC to the late James Porter, Sr. and the late Daisy Gault Porter. James was reared by his father and step-mother, Venice Allen Porter who pre- ceded him in death. Also waiting on him is a brother and sister-in-law, Arthur Porter, Sr. (Pauline) and sisters, Lavonia Phillips and Nettie P. Reid. Mr. Porter is survived by a sister, Judy Woods of Shelby, NC. The funeral service for Mr. Porter was held August 30, 2021 at Shiloh Baptist Church. Burial took place at Palmer Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. THELMA PATTERSON LEACH Mrs. Thelma Patterson Leach, 91, of Shelby, NC passed away on Saturday, August 21, 2021. She was born on May 3, 1930 in Cleveland County, NC to the late Floyce Patterson and the late Mamie Cline Patterson. In addition to her par- ents, she was preceded in death by her husband, A. W. Leach; two daughters, Helen Camp and Peggy Haynes; a great-granddaughter; and six brothers and five sisters. She is survived by her son, Charles Leach (Laray); her daughters, Kathleen Banks, Betty Washington, Eloise Leslie (James), Janie Banks, Essie Wilson and Mamie Leach (Michael); a sister-in- law, Janie Patterson; thirty- one grandchildren; ninety one great-grandchildren; and ninety-four great-great grandchildren. The funeral service for Mrs. Leach was held August 31, 2021 at First Baptist Lawndale Church. Burial took place at Mountain View Baptist Church Cemetery. and husband, Keith of Cherryville; sister, Deloris Ann Adams and husband, Michael of Spartanburg; brother, Forest Bridges and wife, Dot of Cherryville; three grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren. Sherie was born in Burke County, NC on November 29, 1962, a daughter of Terrell Robinson of Lincolnton and the late Audrey Presslar Robinson. In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by a sister and brother-in- law, Teresa Kincaid and husband, Ronald and a brother, Scott Robinson. Survivors include her hus- band, Curtis Wade Harrelson of the home; a brother, Michael Robinson and wife, Betty of Lincolnton; mother- in-law, Clarice Harrelson of Cherryville; and a sister-in- law, Jodie Raybould and husband, Adrian of Marietta, GA. Funeral services were held September 4, 2021 at First United Methodist Church, Cherryville, with Pastor Zack Christy officiating. Burial was in City Memorial Cemetery in Cherryville. He was born in Rutherford County to the late Alonzo and Alpha Mae Bridges. Mr. Bridges served our country during World War II in the US Army. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Selma Bridges; brother, Reno Bridges; and great grand- son. He is survived by his son, Wayne Bridges and wife, Debbie of Lattimore; daughter, Edith Deaton and husband, Robert of Shelby; four grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
