He was born July 29, 1947 to J.W. and Mildred Brackett of Belwood, NC. He is survived by his wife, Debby Brackett of Moyock, NC; his sister, Peggy McCombs of Douglasville, GA and his brother, Samuel Brackett of Shelby, NC; and seven children; eighteen grandchildren and one great grandchild. Born in Cleveland County, on August 5, 1953, he was a son of the late Harvey Ray Short and Marie Davis Short. Mr. Short served our coun- try in the US Army.
