He was born July 29, 1947 to J.W. and Mildred Brackett of Belwood, NC. He is survived by his wife, Debby Brackett of Moyock, NC; his sister, Peggy McCombs of Douglasville, GA and his brother, Samuel Brackett of Shelby, NC; and seven children; eighteen grandchildren and one great grandchild. A memorial service will be held in the near future. Details are yet unknown. STEVE RAY SHORT Steve Ray Short, 68, of Lawndale, passed away on Friday, August 27, 2021. Born in Cleveland County, on August 5, 1953, he was a son of the late Harvey Ray Short and Marie Davis Short. Mr. Short served our coun- try in the US Army. In addition to his parents he is pre- ceded in death by a brother, Keith Short. He is survived by a broth- er, Bobby Short of Lawndale; sister, Sandra Hoppes of Casar. Born in Cleveland County on June 17, 1937, Dewey was the son of the late Edwin and Flossie Jolley Huskey and was preceded in death by his wife, Wanda Bivins Huskey; a sister, Helen Huskey Ruppe; and two brothers, Maynard Edwin Huskey and James Smith Huskey.
