Petersburg Elmentary students in Mrs. Jamie Kessen's fifth grade class partic- ipate in a class activity to determine the author's purpose in several short read- ing passages. Mrs. Annita Henson's fifth grade class at PES work intently on a cut-and-paste activity in English class. Third graders in Mrs. Stephanie Dawson's class, Wesley Adams and Riley Knight earned chief tickets from Mr. Rick King for helping him with an important job. Winners of the Labor Day talent show were, in the junior division, Avery Carr with first place and Maddie Mc- Candless in second. In the Intemediate, Zoey Wildt won first and Brinley Eaton and Eislin Whiteley won sec- ond. Ruby Pillow and Lillian Connelly won third. In the senior division, Jadie Overton won first, Jared Morris (not pictured) won second and Maria Bassett (not pictured) won third. Overall winner across every division was dancer Chloe Willis. Emma Twitty sings "Shine Bright Like a Diamond" Sunday at karaoke during the Labor Day Associa- tion's festival. Bristol Powers and Samantha Sheffer get unbuckled after a ride Sunday during the Labor Day Festival. Aaron and Zander Mason slide down a ride at the Labor Day Celebration Sunday where rides were free. LABOR DAY CELEBRATION
