C-8 Wednesday, August 25, 2021 The Press-Dispatch LEGALS PUBLIC NOTICE APPLICATION FOR PERMIT RENEWAL In accordance with Indiana Administrative Code 312 IAC 25-4-109, BB Mining, Inc., 11700 Water Tank Road, Cynthiana, IN 47612, provides public notice it has filed an application with the Indiana Department of Natural Resources for the renewal of Permit U-034 to conduct underground coal mining and reclamation operations at its Opportunity Mine. e permit area is located in Gibson and Pike Counties, Indiana, and is shown on the Union, IN USGS 7.5 minute quadrangle map. A central point in the permitted mining area is about 2.6 miles southeast of Union, Indiana. e permit area contains approximately 253.4 acres for surface facilities and 9,220 acres for underground mining, which includes the surface area, within the following described areas: Township 1 South, Range 9 West (Surface Area): Section 10: Part of NW/4, SW/4; SW/4, SW/4; and SE/4, SW/4. Also, in conjunction with the underground mining operations, it is occasionally necessary to install satellite facilities and affect the surface at locations above the underground operations. In accordance with 312 IAC 25-4-109(a)(6), this notice hereby informs the public that activities associated with the mining operation may at some point disturb the surface within 100 feet of the outside right-of-way of the following sections of public roads. e disturbance may begin on the effective date of the permit or at some future date and continue for the duration of the mining and reclamation activities. Surface disturbance may occur within 100 feet of the outside right-of-way of the following roads: Gibson County: CR 650N from CR600E to CR650E; CR600N from CR600E to CR650E; CR500N from CR550E to CR850E; CR450N CR575E to CR850E; CR400N from CR650E to CR850E; CR350N from CR650E to CR850E; CR600E from CR600N to CR650N; CR650E from CR400N to CR650N; CR775E from the Pike- Gibson County Line to ½ mile south of CR350N; and CR850E from the Pike-Gibson County Line to ½ mile south of CR350N.
