By faith we assume the pharmacist filled our prescription correctly. By faith you assumed that when you put your feet on the floor this morning it wouldn't col- lapse. Faith is a much great- er part of life than most of us realize. A skeptic may pro- test that these things we can see and touch, where as God is not. But look at the world around you, with all it's beau- ty and complexity. Isn't it more logical to believe that behind it is an all- - powerful and all- - - wise Creator than to think it happened by chance" —Billy Graham. Last weeks devotional was also words of Billy Graham. I forgot to put his name on it. No way am I going to take cred- it for such wise words, from such a great man like Rev. Dr. Billy Graham. Washington Ave. Otwell 812-766-3344 Facebook: Otwell United Methodist Church and Jeff Pin- ney. Otwell United Methodist in- vites you to join us this Sun- day at 10 :30 a.m. as we worship our Lord Jesus Christ; Sunday school, 9:30 a.m. "So Christ himself gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the pastors and teachers, to equip his people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become ma- ture, attaining to the whole mea- sure of the fullness of Christ" (Ephesians 4:11-13, NIV ). Jeff Pinney, Pastor PETERSBURG FREE METHODIST CHURCH 202 Walnut Street We are running pretty much back to normal now, with the exception that we haven't opened our nursery yet. We will plan to do that as soon as possible. Normal weekly schedule is as follows: Sunday school starts at 9:30 a.m. with morn- ing worship starting at 10 :30 a.m. We are doing teen min- istry on Sunday nights at 5:30 p.m. during the summer. Our Wednesday program will start with an outdoor family night celebration September 15. We hope to have inflatables, but if not, we will have plenty of food and activities. We are still working out the details of the Wednesday night min- istry. With the loss of Shirley Graham, our preschool lead- er for the past 50 years, we have to adjust how we do min- istry. We plan to do ministry for children from preschool to high school. Time is still to be decided. The time will only be one hour this year, and we plan to start earlier if possible and we will provide transportation for those who need it. With school starting in Au- gust, that would be a good time for you to reconnect with us on Sunday morning. Most people have returned, but some are still being cau- tious. I can't overestimate the value of gathering together in person on Sunday morning, so we can take who we are in Christ, and apply it to every ar- ea of our lives. Peace and joy in the Lord. Mark Schlechty, Pastor SPURGEON UNITED METHODIST CHURCH 11505 N. Hwy. 61 Spurgeon Pastor Cell 812-202- 8903 or church office 812-922-8215 Church service 9 a.m.; Fri- day Bible study at 1 p.m. Read Job 38:24-38. "What is the way to the place where the lightning is dispersed, or the place where the east winds are scattered over the earth ( Job 38:24)? "When life falls apart, some- times the most comforting thing we can do is to lie on the floor and watch the light- ning—to be reminded that the God who created the world is big enough and loving enough to take care of us too. We may even start singing our favor- ite worship songs that tell of the might and greatness of our God"—Daniel Ryan Day. When was the last time you saw God's power on display? What went through your mind as you witnessed His bigness? "God, help me see how big You are and to stop trying to fit You into small boxes. Help me to trust that if You're big enough to create and control lightning, You're big enough to help me through life's chal- lenges"—Amen. Josh Sanders, Pastor Sherry Julian, Reporter WHITE RIVER CHAPEL UMC 3555 W. SR 56 Bowman 812-582-8896 Sunday worship 9 a.m.; Sun- day school 10 :15 a.m. We are exploring the words in Philippians 4:4-9 and how they can help us thrive in chaos. So many trials come into our lives and along with the busi- ness of life. These things can easily choke out the Life of God in us. But praise God, "But seek ye first the Kingdom of God, and His righteousness; and all these things will be added unto you" (Matthew 6:33). What things will be add- ed? God's order back into our lives—a peace that passes all un- derstanding—He is in control. Facebook: White River Chap- el UMC, Jeff Pinney.
