Born in Cleveland County on November 11, 1947, he was a son of the late Horace Smith and Bertie Lee Stallings Smith. In addi- tion to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Scottie Everett Smith. HUGH WALTER SAIN Hugh Walter Sain, 91, of Lawndale, passed away on Saturday, July 24, 2021 at his residence. Born in Cleveland County on July 30, 1929, he was a son of the late Frank McCoy Sain and Fannie Cleo Pruett Sain. In addition to his par- ents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Iveree Lingerfelt Sain; two daugh- ters, Janet Miller and Jane Davis; daughter-in-law, Debbie Sain; a grandson; seven brothers, Warren Sain, Ralph Sain, Melvin Sain, Jimmie Sain, Harold Sain, Paul Sain and Horace Sain and one sister, Gladys Hull. Survivors include two sons, Danny Sain of Tennessee and Jack Sain and wife, Penny of Hickory; one daughter, Shena Lynn and husband, Skeet of Lawndale; son-in-law, Ron Miller of California; ten grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren; three broth- ers, Colon Sain of Vale, Kenneth Sain of Vale and Bobby Sain of Newton and two sisters, Dorothy Leatherman of Taylorsville and Joann Wise of Vale. In addition to her hus- band, Mrs. Ham is sur- vived by one son, Jamie Ham and wife, Summer, of Blacksburg; two daughters, Cindy Bisby and husband, Bobby, of Blacksburg and Rita Copeland and hus- band, Alex, of Gaffney; one brother, Lewis Parker of Benton, AR; one sister, Carolyn Stewart of York; eleven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
