The ideal candidate will have experience supervising crews, possess effective communication skills, and be experienced and knowledgeable in daily construction, operation of a variety of heavy equipment and maintenance in primarily the following area: ● Town Streets (patching asphalt, potholes, and crack seal) ● Storm drainage facilities and systems ● Snow removal ● Ground maintenance/landscaping ● Safety procedures associated with the tasks listed above ● Budgeting for department QUALIFICATIONS: ● Experience in supervising personnel as well as the ability to plan, organize, and direct daily operations and maintenance activities and implement new programs as needed ● Considerable knowledge of types and levels of maintenance and repairs performed in Public Works operations ● Considerable knowledge of field diagnostics and operation of heavy equipment; and methods, operations, materials, and safe work practices involved in Public Works, streets, stormwater, parks and related facilities maintenance activities ● Heavy equipment operator (backhoe) ● Suitable candidates will possess a minimum of four to six years related experience and/ or training or Associate's degree, or equivalent combination of education and experience in Public Works or related field.
