Frances Fiskwater and her long me lesbian partner, Mildred Haslip are startled one night when they see lights in the old abandoned mansion next door. A er all, the owner, Esther Crestcro , disappeared in the Bermuda Triangle some months previous. When the two oldsters decide to inves gate what's going on at the Crestcro manse they get pulled into a strange tale that leads to a certain island with a very unusual feature among its landscapes. EXCERPT: The windows along this side of the house had been boarded up only as high as the length of the plywood allowed, and there was consequently, a good five or six inches of pane through which Mil- dred could peer. "What do you see? What do you see in there?" Fran kept asking impa ently. "Hold on. Give me a second here." Mildred answered, rubbing the pane of glass with the sleeve of her robe to get enough dust off it to see inside. What Mildred saw had the eye behind her monocle popping and she wished she had taken the me to retrieve her glasses. "It's two girls," She told Fran, "They're both nude and rolling around on that marble floor, making out like bandits!" In fact, Mildred was so affected by the sight, her legs began to shake. "Careful. CAREFUL MILLIE!" Fran yelled. The two young women inside the Crestcro man- sion froze in the midst of their passion, having heard Frances' outcry.
