Memorial Hospital and Health Care Cen- ter offers support to assist those who have experienced the loss of a child (conception to one month of age) through the grieving process, and provide an atmosphere of confiden- tiality and comfort. "Your Health and Diabetes" Education–Discovering the diagnosis of diabetes can be overwhelming. Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center wants to support you in this transition of lifestyle, and sponsors a continuing educa- tion group for persons with diabetes, pre-diabetes, or any- one who is interested in learning about the disease. The topic for the June class is "Mediterranean Diet." This support group is the third Monday of each month and pro- vides knowledge to help you feel more secure, manage prob- lems and avoid hospitalization for diabetes-related issues. Alzheimer's Disease and Dementia Caregiver Sup- port Group- Dementia is a brain disorder that seriously af- fects a person's ability to carry out daily activities. Alzhei- mer's disease is the most common form of dementia among senior Citizens. It involves the parts of the brain that con- trol thought, memory and language. Memorial Hospital's Caring Hands Senior Services spon- sors an Alzheimer's Disease and Dementia Caregiver Sup- port Group. Meeting dates have changed to the first Tues- day of every month. The next meeting is Tuesday, July 6, from 6:30 to 8 p.m. in the Medical Arts Conference Center, located in the lower level of the Medical Arts Building at 721 W. 13th St. in Jasper. This support group allows caregivers to come together to share knowledge and experiences in caring for loved ones who are affected by these illnesses. Guidelines: Parade entries must be received by Friday, June 25, 2021. Those after June 25 will be late entries. All late parade entries will be placed at the end of the parade line-up. No parade entries will be allowed after 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, July 3, 2021. Enter parade line-up by turning on Grant Street off Hwy. 257 to former Otwell Elementary School. Parade entrants MUST be in line by 9 a.m. to be judged. No vehicles, other than parade entries, will be allowed past the check-in point. The parade will begin at 10 a.m. Traffic on Highway 257 to immediate north and south of Otwell will be closed during the parade. Candy is welcome to be thrown during the parade; this parade is known for having LOTS of good candy! The parade makes a straight route north on Highway 257 through Otwell and ends on Virgin Street.
