And no one puts new wine in old wine skins; or else the new wine would burst the wine skin, the wine is spilled and the wine skins ruined. But new wine must be put in- to new wine skins. We are to be like new wine skins, so we can be filled by new wine, by the teachings of the new cove- nant by our Lord Jesus Christ. That way we won't burst as an old wine skin would. And our understanding of the gospel would not be ruined. When we as believers spread the teach- ings of the good news, sent to us by God, we should pour out the new wine in us. Just as Je- sus did when he turned wa- ter into wine at the wedding, it was the best and new. New, not old, not watered down. Let our teachings be of truth, not just the tickling of the ear. Share what the Bi- ble says, about how it is very important to have Jesus in our lives, and the consequences of denying him. "My prayer is that God will pour out His new wine in all of us, so that the unbeliever may see us shine, by our works and our lifestyle as a follower of Christ and that they may also rejoice in the Spirit of Christ Jesus and through the body of Christ, we can all be togeth- er in The Kingdom of God"— Amen. What a beautiful song of consecration. We sing it as a congregation, often on a Sun- day morning as part of our worship service. How often do we, as individual Christians, live it day by day? When the heartaches of life come our way, friends forsake us, or our health fails do we sing it then? When financial strain comes or spiritual war rages in our minds, are we quick to say "This too I surrender? " The next time you find your- self without peace concerning any situation you may be go- ing through, ask yourself this, "Is this situation complete- ly surrendered to God and have I truly cast this care up- on Him? " Find a hymnal (pg. 495 in ours) and sing from the heart "I Surrender All" until the peace comes. There is al- ways victory in surrender to Christ.
