She is the creator and chief con- tent director of From Farms to Incubators, a multimedia platform that uses documentary, video, photography, and the written word to tell the stories of remarkable female leaders and innovators creating breakthrough solu- tions in the field of agtech. The book and ac- companying multi-media content has a mis- sion of highlighting women in food, farming, and farmtech, especially celebrating women of color. The documentary and stories that can be found on the project's website have been screened and presented at SXSW [South-By-SouthWest] in Austin and also the Techonomy Conference. The initiative was awarded grants from the International Center for Journalists and International Women's Media Foundation's Howard G. Buffett Fund. In 2019, Food Tank – a nationwide non-profit dedicated to highlighting environmentally, socially and economically sustainable ways to alleviate hunger, obesity and poverty – named Amy Wu one of "15 Inspiring Women Leading the AgTech Sector." In 2020, Wu was featured in Worth magazine's "Groundbreak- ers 2020 list of 50 Women Changing the World." She has also received the Women in Agribusiness Demeter Award of Excellence. Prior to starting her project, From Farms to Incubators, Wu spent over two decades as an investigative reporter at media outlets including the USA Today network where she reported on agriculture and agtech for The Salinas Californian. She has also reported for Time Magazine, The Deal, and contributed to The New York Times, The Huffington Post, and The Wall Street Journal. Wu earned her bachelor's degree in history from New York University, and master's degree in journalism from Columbia University.
