U pdating classic drop earrings and cocktail rings with black diamonds, asymmetrical stones, and spotted leopard jasper, Phillips House jewelry catches your attention. "I always design jewelry that is not only spectacular for the current moment, but that will be special for all moments," explains cofounder Lisa Frankel. The designer, who launched Phillips House with her daughter, Danielle, grew up in Newton and is especially excited to debut the new collection at the Back Bay Saks Fifth Avenue this summer. "Boston's tremendously rich history has definitely been the biggest influence on my design philosophy," Lisa says. "Shopping at Saks was so special as a child. To be sold there makes me feel on top of the world." Exclusive to the multibrand retailer in Boston, the stunning pieces brilliantly blend New England elegance with contemporary style. A spotted jasper and ruby bracelet offers a delicate way to don this season's print trend, while a pair of tsavorite and blue amazonite drop earrings recall sea glass scattered along the Cape Cod shore. The British brand, which holds a royal warrant, started making luxury, handcrafted items in 1781 and was noted early on for its dressing cases. The new store features fine jewelry, crystal, and games, as well as Asprey's Spring/Summer 2013 collection of handbags, including the new Savoy silhouette in Cerulean Crocodile and the more structured Post Bag in Bright Magenta bullskin (PICTURED). As part of a deeper relationship between the two storied brands, The RitzCarlton properties around the world will now have Asprey Purple Water amenities in their rooms. The hotel is also offering a special $10,000 package that includes a one-night stay in The Presidential Suite overlooking Boston Common, access to The Ritz-Carlton Club Level, a $1,000 credit to the boutique, and a private Asprey shopping appointment in your suite. In addition, mixologists from the hotel's Avery Bar will create Asprey-inspired cocktails at the suite complete with the brand's Game Barware, which includes a cocktail shaker with a sterling silver top and two hand-cut crystal martini glasses that guests can keep as part of this exclusive package. IT WAS A HOMECOMING OF SORTS for The Frye Company when it opened a new store on Newbury Street this spring. The leather goods company was started in Marlborough by John A. Frye in 1863, making sturdy shoes for factory workers. Now Frye has opened a 9,000-square-foot store in the former Charley's Eating & Drinking Saloon. The wildly popular brand's chic boots, sexy high heels, and leather accessories are showcased in custom wooden cabinetry and metal shelves. Dark wood floors in the new store are broken up by vintage carpets and low tables offering some of the season's most coveted styles, including the Erin Oxford, the Melissa Perf Bootie with laser cutouts, and our favorite sandal, the Samantha Seam, with antiqued silver and brass rivets lining the inside of the nearly five-inch heel. 284 Newbury St., 617-247-3793; thefryecompany.com Deborah studded short boot, The Frye Company ($498).
