4A • WASHINGTON COUNTY POST • SUNDAY, MARCH 28, 2021 GMTODAY.COM By Karen Stokes Special to Conley Media SLINGER — Traci Eber- ly had no idea in the begin- ning of 2020 the effect that COVID-19 would have on her business. Eberly owns Awakening Healing and Yoga studio in Slinger; her business was not considered essential and she had to temporarily shut down. Even though businesses all around America strug- gled during the pandemic, for Eberly it presented a new opportunity to stay connected to her clients. "I had to find a way to still help people even though they weren't coming to the studio," Eberly said. That's when she made the decision to create "Reclaiming Me," which is a 12-week online wellness coaching program. "It's a wellness program. Everyone who has joined this program so far has been able to lose weight," Eberly said. "In this program there are no products, no pills or shakes. It's based on my over eight years of research in physical body movement. I am a certified nutritionist and certified in energy heal- ing." The program has three main components. The first is nutrition, it's not a diet. "I can't stress that enough, it's helping people understand the importance of nutrition and looking at food from the perspective of how is this nourishing my body versus just looking at calories," Eberly said. The second component is body movement. "Each week my clients receive two of the Barre HIIT fusion classes and a yoga class but it's based on meeting them where they're at. Week one for the two HIIT classes are only six minutes, then take time to stretch, by week 12, we're doing 15 minutes of HIIT," Eberly said. The third component calls for the client to explore their beliefs. "Most people don't rec- ognize that the beliefs they hold in their self-conscious mind has a direct affect on their health and their ability to lose weight," said Eberly. "I give them the tools to be able to dig into their subconscious mind to see if there's anything blocking them from being able to successfully lose weight." "A lot of people who struggle with weight have some kind of trauma in their life, whether it was some type of abuse as a child or even words that are unkind, words with abuse. Weight can be a protective mechanism," she said. Clients work on the pro- gram individually. They log onto the website and access the modules and then there's a group coaching call that helps people recog- nize that they are not alone. It helps build a sense of community. "If you're looking just for a diet program, this isn't it. If you're looking to change your life, this is the program for you. I call it Reclaiming Me because it's about reclaiming who you are at your core and at your essence versus doing some- thing for vanity reasons," explains Eberly.
