After two years on hia- tus, the unscripted reality series is launching a sixth season and returning to its home network, TLC, on Monday, March 22. During the "Breaking Amish" spinoff's first five seasons on the Discovery- owned network, airing from 2014 to 2019, "Return to Amish" sought to continue the stories of ex-Amish char- acters Abe, Rebecca and An- drew Schmucker, Kate Stoltzfus, Jeremiah and Car- mella Raber and ex-Menno- nite Sabrina High as they navigated life outside the Amish world in which they grew up. Now, several years after the original cast mem- bers have left their commu- nities and started to experi- ence the "English," aka non- Amish, world, new soon-to- be-ex-Amish cast members are joining in their quest. Season 6 of the beloved show will feature young adults Rosanna and Mau- reen as they get help from the existing cast to navigate the intricacies and new expe- riences involved in leaving their Amish community. True, these young women are new to viewers, the camera and the English way of life, but they do have a connection to past seasons. Maureen is Ada's granddaughter (and Rosanna is Maureen's close friend), so it was with Ada's help that the two got in- volved with the show in the first place. And while the cur- rent cast is happy to provide some stability for the ladies as they go through their many English firsts, some worry that Rosanna could go down the wrong path while Maureen explores a new ro- mantic interest described as "a budding relationship [that] has the potential to help her acclimate even fast- er" (per an official news re- lease).
