Pier roller coaster would become the universal
symbol of this killer storm's devastation.While
I've painted large before, this was particularly
so, and especially since there was so much
detail. I stopped counting the people when I
hit 100. Generally, on a painting of this size
(40x72"), I would work with larger brushes, but
for this piece, I had to use very small brushes
on 95% of the project—on everything except
the sky and ocean. I included my two oldest
grandchildren, Leah and Will. You can find
