Above: "Mako." Photographed sixty miles off the New Jersey coast, this image is a blended sequence of eight separate photos
of a three hundred-plus pound mako shark jumping as it battles an angler. The nine foot shark jumped about nine feet into the
air. The shark was hooked during the Mako Mania and Mako Fever fishing tournaments. Several minutes after this sequence
was shot, it broke off and escaped into the depths. Lynch captured the images while aboard the Debra Ann (out of Brielle),
Captain John Breece's thirty-foot Grady White. The crew was Ponytail Mike Malek, John Budish, and Jaime Budish.
