This is a great posi ve psychology interven on to
help you become aware of how you think and change
the nega ve to posi ve.
For 24 hours (or 48) try not to say anything nega-
ve. This includes complaining, judging yourself or
others, etc.
Remember, complaining is a sign of dissa sfac on in
your life.
Be mindful of any of the nega ve thoughts/com-
plaints that come up for you. An cipate that nega-
ve thoughts and complaints will come up.
When you catch yourself saying the nega ve thought/
complaining, say STOP out loud or to yourself.
If you're a visual person, visualize a stop sign or red
light or any image that represents stop.
A er you catch yourself then reframe the thought.
Ask yourself: What is this nega ve emo on/thought
teaching me? What is it trying to tell me? What can I
do to change the situa on? What ac ons can I take?
