Teaghon and Braylen Posel- wait sent in ice cream money to cover every child at OMA to get ice cream on Friday. Money will go to cov- er other students who might fall short for those who have already paid for the year. The character trait for December was humility. Recipients of the award are: Braelyn Turner, Sephora Moyes, Josie Hill, Dawson Pauw and Kinley Catt. Not pictured: Rhett Houtsch and Delaney Willis. Otwell Miller Academy fourth grade students in Kim El- liott's class participated in the flag education program ad- ministered by the American Legion Department of Indi- ana Flag Education and Etiquette Committee. Students are all given a 20-question test and asked to do a short es- say. There will be two state winners who receive a $1,000 check. Braelyn Turner and Sawyer Kabrick were the cho- sen winners at Otwell Miller Academy. Third grade student Kellcyn Riker passed all her division facts, in- cluding a mixed review of 1-12's. CALENDAR Feb 12 — Valentine Exchange within home- rooms for those that wish to participate. Any candy/treats should be pre-packaged and nut- free. For other allergies, check with the classroom teacher. Ideally, students could bring Valentine ex- change items in 2-3 days before Feb. 12. Feb. 12 — Final day to order 2020 -2021 Year- books, extra forms are in the office. Feb. 15 — School in session today. March 8 -19 — IREAD 3 testing. Mrs. Walton's fourth grade class taught Mrs. Beck's kindergarten class how to code the Ozobot robot. Stu- dents helped Mrs. Beck's class code or make the robots move in different directions, do tricks and flash colors. The Ozobots were purchased for Petersburg Elementary through a High Ability Grant. Above: Grayson Schultheis, from Mrs. Walton's, class showed Kentley Bump and Kayden Boyle how to draw a coded line for the Ozobot to follow. Mrs. Brock's class display their Pioneer Days projects. Caiden Crume, Malachi McLaughlin, Vivi- en Frasure, Jaron Woolsey, Sylvie McDivitt, Parker Goeppner and Holly Beck gave presentations about what they learned about the pioneers. Fourth graders in Ms. Aldridge's class learned about static electricity and the movement of electrons in Science class.
