Hoping to get out of debt and make a name for herself as a private
detective, Eliza Scarlet (Kate Phillips, "Wolf Hall") takes on her first
case in Masterpiece Mystery's "Miss Scarlet and the Duke," premier-
ing Sunday, Jan. 17, on PBS. Unfortunately, working in the male-domi-
nated field proves to be a challenge, so Eliza calls upon her father's
former protege, Duke Wellington (Stuart Martin, "Jamestown"), for
help.
