Max was a native of Rutherford County, a US Air Force veteran of the Korean Conflict. He was preceded in death by his first wife Eunice Waters Ledbetter, parents Richard Wayne Ledbetter & Willie Inez Guffey Ledbetter along with several brothers & sisters. In addition to his wife Edna, there leaves to cherish his memory his chil- dren Ricky (Vicki) Ledbetter of Spindale, Janice (Richard) Warren of Fort Mill, SC; grandchildren Aaron (Nicole) Ledbetter, Tyler (Kristie) Ledbetter, Taylor (Kelsey) Ledbetter, Matthew (Bonnie) Warren; 2 great grandchil- dren. Graveside ser- vices were conducted at Mt. Vernon Baptist Church Cemetery. Military honors were provided by Rutherford County Veterans honor Guard. Memorials may be made to Hospice of the Carolina Foothills P.O. Box 336 Forest City, NC 28043. C.B. "BOYCE" GREENE C.B. "Boyce" Greene, age 76, of Mooresboro, passed away December 24, 2020. C.B. was born August 24, 1944 in Rutherford County to the late Charles Frank Greene & Zula Thompson Greene. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Jeaul Greene; sister, Gayle May; 2 infant sons, Gregory Boyce Greene & Brandon Kevin Greene & a granddaughter. Those left to cher- ish his memory include his wife of 43 years, Wanda Flynn Greene; 2 daugh- ters, Lalisa Carpenter (Craig) & Brooke Greene all of Ellenboro; 2 sons, Boyce Charles Green, Jr. of Lawndale & Brian Godfrey of Cliffside; brother, Ronald "Whitey" Greene (Sandra) of Mooresboro; 10 grand- children & 5 great-grandchil- dren. The funeral service was conducted at Spindale Fellowship Holiness Church. Entombment followed in the Rutherford County Memorial Cemetery Mausoleum. SILAS PAGE EDWARDS Silas Page Edwards, infant son of Hunter Edwards and Clarissa Bowling Edwards of Rutherfordton, went home to be with his Heavenly Father December 22, 2020. Although his time on earth was brief, he touched many along the way. The love of those who cher- ished him will forever abide in their hearts. His memory will last a lifetime. In addition to his parents, he will be remembered by two brothers, Easton Curtis Edwards and Landyn Beaumont Edwards; maternal grandparents, Johnny and Michelle Bowling of Gilkey; maternal great-grandmother, Shirley Bowling of Rutherfordton; paternal grandparents, Evan Edwards of Forest City and Rayna Watkins (Scotty) of Gaffney; pater- nal great-grandparents, Weldon and Rozelle Edwards and Mike and Stephanie Summers all of Forest City. He is also sur- vived by a host of aunts, uncles and cousins. A graveside service was conducted at Golden Valley Missionary Methodist Church Cemetery. Harrelson Funeral and Cremation Services is serving the family. UNA BEAM Una Hazel McDonald Beam affectionately known as "Meme", 99, passed away on December 28, 2020. Una was born in Forest City on September 6, 1921. She was the old- est daughter of Cautus and Ella Mae Head McDonald. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel Maurice Beam, her sister, Kathrine McDonald Sisk, her brothers, Paul Dennis McDonald and Carl "Ted" Walker McDonald and daughter-in -law, Gail Wallace Beam. Left to cherish her memory are her son Donald Maurice Beam of Ellenboro, her daughter, Kimberly Jones and hus- band Freddie of Bostic, her four grandchildren, one great grandson, sis- ter-in-law, Nancy Beam of Ellenboro and a number of special nieces & nephews whom she loved dearly. A graveside service was held in the Bethany Baptist Church Cemetery, Forest City. ROBERT JONES "BOBBY" WILLIAMS Robert Jones "Bobby" Williams, age 89 of Forest City, passed away December 29, 2020. Bobby was born July 1, 1931 in Rutherford County and was a son of the late Paul Jones Williams and Lucy Freeman Williams. Bobby honorably served his country in the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict. Bobby was also preceded in death by his first wife, Martha Lancaster Williams, his daughter, Jean Marlowe, brother, J. B. Williams, and a grandson. Survivors include his wife, Jean Williams of the home, a daughter, Suzy Williams Allen and husband Danny of Rutherfordton, a sister, Ann Williams Tate of Morganton as well as a num- ber of grandchildren. A private funer- al service was held in The Padgett and King Chapel. Interment in Oak Grove United Methodist Church Cemetery in Ellenboro. Memorials may be made to Florence Baptist Church, 201 South Broadway St., Forest City, NC 28043. RANDY MAX HOLLAND Randy Max Holland, age 58, of Shelby, passed away December 28, 2020. Randy was born July 23, 1962 in Rutherford County to the late Georlene Bailey Holland and to Max Holland who resides in Ellenboro. In addition to his father, those left to cherish his memory include his wife of twenty-six years, Gloria Wilson Holland; son, Josh Holland of Harris; daughter, Linda Holland of Forest City; stepsons, Charles Thomas, Jr. and Brian Thomas (Tanya) all of Forest City; two sisters, Lisa Blanton (Dwayne) of Rutherfordton and Mary Jo Teseniar (Don) of Forest City; brother Alan Holland (Sharon) of Forest City; seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild. A graveside service was conducted at Rutherford County Memorial Cemetery. Memorial donations are requested to Heart of the Foothills Animal Rescue, 380 U.S. Highway 221 N, Rutherfordton, NC 28139. DOUGLAS W. FLACK Douglas W. Flack, age 77, of Rutherfordton, passed away December 31, 2020. He was the son of the late I. K. Flack and the late Mavel Murray Flack and he was a native of Rutherford County. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran of the Vietnam War. In addition to his parents he was preced- ed in death by one brother, Donald Flack, and 3 sisters, Jackie Lawson, Sandra Lee Prince, and Grace Epley. He is survived by his loving wife: Lorrine Hill Flack. One Daughter: Susan Elaine Canupp, Monroe, NC. One Son: James Douglas Flack, Monroe, NC. One Brother: Ike K. Flack III, Kannapolis, NC. And five Grandchildren. The graveside ser- vice was held at Eternal Hills Memorial Park. Military honors were provid- ed by the Rutherford County Honor Guard. SHIRLEY BROWN COLLINS Shirley Brown Collins, age 83, of Ellenboro, Passed away Friday, January 1, 2021. She was the daugh- ter of the late Reverend Johnnie Lee and Dora Rhodes Brown and a native of Rutherford County. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Hoyt Vernon Collins Sr., two brothers; J.D. Brown and Daniel Brown and one sister Marie Greene. Shirley is sur- vived by Two daughters; Tanya Early (Gary) and Cynthia Jones, two sons; Hoyt Collins Jr. and Sam Collins (girlfriend Kathi), one sister Jean Hamilton, nine grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. HOWARD LOOKADOO SR. William Howard Lookadoo Sr, age 96, beloved hus- band of Barbara Straughn Lookadoo of Forest City, passed away January 2, 2021. A native of Rutherford County, Howard was the son of the late Richard Pierce Lookadoo and Macy Elizabeth Deviney Lookadoo. Howard was a U.S. Army Veteran of WW II. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his first wife Irene Moore Lookadoo; brothers, Richard, Don and Gilmer Lookadoo; sisters Katherine Brackett, Sarah Harrill and Lorena Lookadoo. Those left to cher- ish his memory include his wife Barbara, a son Bill Luckadoo and his wife Judy, a daughter Susie Smith and her husband Mickey; brother Phillip Lookadoo, two grand- daughters and two great grandchildren. Graveside services were conducted at Eternal Hills Memorial Park. Military honors were provided by the Rutherford County Veterans Honor Guard. MARY TAYLOR Mary Taylor, age 83, of Rutherfordton, passed away, December 27, 2020. M a r y w a s born March 15, 1937 in Rutherford County to the late Dewey Morrow and Odester Banning Morrow. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of forty-six years, George Edward Taylor, Sr.; broth- ers, Robert and Leonard Morrow and a grandson. Those left to cher- ish her memory include two daughters, Elizabeth Taylor Schmitt (James) of Forest City and Lisa Biddy (Terry) of Rutherfordton; son, George Edward Taylor, Jr. (Lynn) of Gilkey; thirteen grandchil- dren She is also survived by thirty-four great-grandchil- dren and one great-great- grandchild. The funeral service was conducted at Spindale Fellowship Holiness Church. Interment followed at Mountain Creek Baptist Church.
