MISSION To holistically enhance the socio economic wellbeing of communities, businesses, and individuals through sustainability and nancial independence. PROGRAMS The Illinois Small Business Development Centers (SBDC) at ESDC offers no-cost advising and technical assistance to clients ranging from small business owners to aspiring entrepreneurs. The center is also available for information and guidance during the coronavirus pandemic. ESDC is the city's delegate agency for the Pilsen Industrial Corridor, and since the start of the pandemic, has been working with companies and community organizations to distribute prepackaged fresh produce and non-perishable goods to thousands of families. Roe Cynthia Lau EL HOGAR DEL NIÑO ENSEMBLE ESPAÑOL ABOUT THE ENSEMBLE ESPAÑOL The Ensemble Español is the premier Spanish dance company and center in the United States to have in-residence status at a university, making its home at Northeastern Illinois University. Founded by Dame Libby Komaiko in 1975, and incorporated in 1976, the company tours nationally and internationally, provides extensive arts education to young students, maintains a pre-professional training academy, offers university level dance courses for college credit, and conducts a wide range of community outreach programs and classes. The organization includes 40 dancers, singers, and musicians, as well as an administrative staff. Under the dynamic leadership of artistic director Irma Suárez Ruiz, and executive director Jorge Pérez, the company also produces the annual American Spanish Dance and Music Festival in the Chicago area. MISSION The mission of the Ensemble Español Spanish Dance Theater is to preserve, promote, and present the Flamenco, Folkloric, Classical, Escuela Bolera and Contemporary Dance and Music traditions of Spain.
