The Press-Dispatch Wednesday, September 9, 2020 B-3 NORTH KNOX Continued from page 1 www.UebelhorGM.com Jasper • 1-800-937-8721 CHEVROLET Stone and Teague take third and fourth at Hopewell Pike Central compet- ed in three of the four Alan Hopewell Class Invitational races last Thursday and came away with two top five finish- es in Libby Stone and Quin- lan Teague. Stone was third in 21:08.5 in the girls' junior/se- nior class and teammate Quin- lan Teague was right behind in fourth, clocking 21:10.8. Stone was less than six sec- onds out of second place be- hind Lady Titan Taylor Hart. Lady Charger Jenna Meyer was 12th overall in 22:38.6, while Laney Johnson was 20th (232:59.6), Morgan Anderson 21st (24:17.6) and Charlotte Dudenhoeffer 23rd (24:35). In the boys' junior/senior race, Ethan Gorby was 22nd (20 :09.1), Trent Zimmerman was 23rd (20 :10.2) and Noah Russell 38th (23:23.6). In the freshman/sophomore class race, Jeremy Delobel was 25th (20 :13), Peyton Chanley was 30th (20 :29.8) and Dallas Re- utepohler was 31st (20 :30.8). "They had a good day, fin- ishing sixth out of 13 teams and the men were 15th out of 19. They divided the results of the one race. Quinlan Teague had a big PR of about 50 sec- onds. A few others had small PRs or were pretty close to it. My men's team is really banged up right now. We are missing two guys out for inju- ry and two more injury scares. Plus some of the guys are re- ally sore. I've had to back off on some of their training, that and along with the lack of sta- bility with school, and all the new policies, have made train- ing a little spotty for the men's team. However, Ethan Gorby seems to steadily be improv- ing and Peyton Chanley had a good race after coming back from some time off due to in- jury. Dallas Reutepohler has been building up on mileage as well. Hopefully, we can put it all together by the end of the season." Teague was 11th (20 :15.30), Stone 29th (21:48.30), An- na Whitehead (31, 22:02.4), Jenna Meyer (34, 22:12.8), Charlotte Dudenhoeffer (43, 22:38.2), Morgan Anderson (51, 23:08.3), and Laney John- son (53, 23:25.4). Peyton Chanley (41, 18:32.6), Ethan Gorby (88, 18:32.6), Trent Zimmerman (101, 20 :03.9), Noah Russell (126, 20 :49.6), Jeremy De- lobel (134, 21:00.3), Dallas Reutepohler (136, 21:02.3) and Shane Woodhull (162, 22:41.3). Noah Russell ran third for Pike Central in the junior/ senior class race at the Al- an Hopewell Invitational on Thursday at Gibson South- ern. Ethan Gorby ran first and Trent Zimmerman sec- ond for the Chargers. Pike Central's Laney Johnson finished 20th overall and fourth for the team in 23:59.6 at the Alan Hopewell Invitational junior/senior class race last Thursday. Jenna Meyer ran a 22:38.6 to third place for Pike Cen- tral and 12th overall at the Alan Hopewell Invitational junior/senior class race. This is the first year for the expanded PAC, as Boonville, Princ- eton, Washington and Mt. Vernon joined the conference when the former Big Eight conference dis- solved. Gibson Southern continued their dominance, winning the PAC for the seventh consecutive year with a score of 365. Pike Central, despite having no seniors and only two girls with prior varsity experience, placed sixth. "Our goal going in was top five and we only missed that by a few strokes. We have zero seniors, so we hope to use this as a build- ing block for improvement in the future," said Charger coach Jar- rod Gideon. As a team, Pike Central posted a 439, with the girls' scores tight- ly packed from 106 to 112, Sophie Carnahan posted a 106, followed by Chloe Williams at 110, Nevi Le- mond with a 111 and Mabrey Shoul- tz with a 112.
