He was born January 1, 1941, in Pike County, to Wil- liam Boyd and Lottie Eliza- beth Edrington. He worked for many years as a printer and retired from Standard Registry Company. He is survived by his sons, Rob Kelley, Keith ( Jennifer) Kelley and Kip (Tina) Kel- ley; daughter, Kristi (Don) Penn; 14 grandchildren; ma- ny great-grandchildren; broth- er, Edward Edrington; and sis- ters, Linda McCandless, Tra- cie Alday and Isabell Disney. He is preceded in death by his first wife, Ethel Kelley; his second wife, Fay Kelley; broth- er, David Edrington; sister, Lenora Whitehead; and his parents. A graveside service was at 1 p.m. EDT on Monday, Sept. 7, 2020, at Flat Creek Cemetery, near the White Oak area, with Mike Miller officiating. Har- ris Funeral Home is entrust- ed with his care. MARION FR ANKLIN ROPP Marion "Frank" Frank- lin Ropp, 72, of Petersburg, passed away September 2, 2020, at his residence. He was born May 9, 1948, in Pike County, to Ervin and Ru- by Thelma (McGillem) Ropp. He married his wife, Linda Lou Ropp, on July 29, 1967. He worked as a farmer and a Reclamation Foreman for So- lar Sources for many years. He served in the National Guard and was the president of the Pike County Library Board. He was a proud member of the Pike Masonic Lodge #121, the Hadi Shrine, Scottish Rite and the Petersburg Moose Lodge. His hobbies included being outdoors, attending antique tractor shows and playing golf. He is survived by his daugh- ter, Amy Lynn Ropp; sisters, Barbara (Roger) Craig and Su- sie (Terry) Ferguson; cousin, Ross (Leslie) Elmore; and ma- ny cousins, nieces and neph- ews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Linda Lou Ropp; and his parents. A graveside service was at 1:30 p.m. EDT on Saturday, September 5, 2020, at Walnut Hills Cemetery in Petersburg. Visitation was from 10 a.m.-12:30 p.m. on Saturday at Harris Funeral Home in Petersburg. A Masonic Ser- vice was at 12:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that donations be made to the Shriners Hospital, Pike County Library, Walnut Hills Cemetery, Antioch Christian Church, or PAWS of Peters- burg. Harris Funeral Home was entrusted with his care. TELVIS R. BELL Telvis R. Bell, 65, of Somer- ville, entered rest on Tuesday, Sept. 1, 2020, at his home. He was born on July 1, 1955, in Carmi, Ill., to Kenneth Bell and Viola Hungate. He had worked at Modern Welding Supply for 15 years. He is survived by his wife, Thelma (Lough) Bell, of Somerville; his children, Taunya (Bruce) Guthrie and Brian (Colleen) Bell, both of Grayville, Ill., and Ang- ie Koontz, of Mt. Bolin, 68, of Falls of Rough, Ky., entered rest on August 27, 2020, at Twin Lake Regional Medical Center in Leitchfield, Ky. She was born on Feb. 1, 1952, in Oakland City, to How- ard and Stella Gayhart. She was a homemaker. She is survived by her son, Kevin Bolin, of Petersburg; a sister, Betty Reynolds, of Winslow; and a brother, Da- vid Gayhart, of Winslow. Graveside services were at noon EDT on Saturday Sept. 5, 2020, at Oak Hill Cemetery in Winslow, with Rev. Henry Nelson and Rev. Jerry Black- well officiating. RICKY GENE WILLIS Ricky Gene Willis, 62, of Pe- tersburg, entered rest on Tues- day, Sept. 1, 2020, at St Vin- cent Hospital in Evansville. He was born on Oct. 15, 1957, in Princeton, to Richard "Dick" and Fay Lavern (Hen- son) Willis. He had worked for Sharrett Body shop in Princeton for several years. He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Mary (Ross) Willis; his children, Nicholas (Sara) Willis, Christopher (Chari- ty) Willis and Matthew (Car- oline) Willis, all of Petersburg; seven grandchildren; his sis- ters, Shlena Willis and Tuwa- na Hill; and a brother, Michael (Tina) Willis, of Petersburg. Graveside services were at 2 p.m. CDT on Saturday, Sept. 5, 2020, at the Cloin Cemetery, with Rev. Craig Line and Rev. Chad Searls officiating. ULA MAE McDOWELL Ula Mae McDowell, 74, of Mackey, entered rest on Fri- day Sept. 4, 2020, at her home. She was born on Dec. 31, 1945, in Pike County. She is survived by her chil- dren, Donna Loveless, of Mackey; Lloyd (Candi) Mc- Dowell, of Plainville, and Doug (Robin) McDowell, of Oakland City; nine grandchil- dren; and nine great-grand- children. She was preceded in death by her mother, Dorothy Hay- craft; husband, Richard "Pep- si" McDowell; and a brother, Roy Haycraft. Services were at 2 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 7, 2020, at the Lamb-Basham Memorial Chapel, with Larry Haycraft officiating. Burial followed in Martins Cemetery, near Lit- tles. JAMES DOUGLAS GRIFFITH James Douglas Griffith, 78, of Petersburg, passed away on Friday, September 4, 2020, at his residence. He was born on June 17, 1942, in Petersburg to Shirley and Elsie Griffith. He married Dessie Mae Bruce on June 11, 1962. Although they were di- vorced after 32 years, their love for each other was unde- niable and they shared an eter- nal bond. He was a coal miner at Old Ben 1 as a shovel/drag line operator for over 25 years and then retired from there. He was the president of Lo- cal 5179 for many years, and he had a strong belief in the union, and the men and wom- en of the UMWA. He was ded- icated to helping them in any way he could. He was owner/ operator of Jim's Gun Shop for many years as well. Over the years, he held memberships at the Moose Lodge #1617 of Pe- tersburg, VFW of Petersburg, American Legion of Winslow, and the Eagles of Winslow. Throughout his life, he en- joyed fishing, hunting, spend- ing time with friends and fam- ily, and attending union events throughout Indiana. He is survived by his three daughters, Allison L. Bell, of Illinois, Christina A. Scales, of Petersburg, Jodie Dawn (To- ny) Faith, of Evansville; a sis- ter, Connie (Bill) Houchins, of Holland, Penn.; many niec- es and nephews; 13 grandchil- dren, Michael (Misty) Bell, of Petersburg, Libby (Kale) Shel- ton, of Evansville, Josie Bell, of Evansville, William (B.J.) (Brittany) Scales, of Jasper, Justin ( Jayde) Eaton, of Bow- man, Chase (Maura) Eaton, Samantha Dawn Huntsman, Trevor Ray Huntsman, Natalie Faith and Johnny Faith, all of Evansville, William Faith, of Spurgeon, and Anthony Faith and Chelsea (Kyle) Mills, both of Petersburg; and 13 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; and Dessie. A graveside service will be at 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday, September 9, 2020, at Walnut Hills Cemetery in Petersburg. Visitation will be from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home. Masks are required at the funeral home due to COVID-19 restrictions.
