Parade From Page 1 the general public to virtually tour these homes on the MBAParadeofHomes.com website. We'll have a bunch more virtual elements (3D virtual tours, photos, videos, and more) that folks can explore on the new website as well." The 2020 Parade will feature virtual access to 18 new homes constructed by 16 of the areas foremost home builders in three local subdivisions — The Preserve at Har- vest Ridge in the Town of Lisbon, Aero Park in Menomonee Falls and Ryanwood Manor in Franklin. Beginning Aug. 15, the 2020 MBA Virtual Parade of Homes will offer visitors a reimagined way to imagine themselves in a newly constructed home. It is free to the general public, with no ticket required to explore all 18 previously unseen homes. The virtual tour will present viewers with insights into the latest trends in the home-selling market today in exterior design, sustainable building techniques, energy efficiency and cutting-edge in-home technology. "Outdoor living space continues to be high on the wish list for customers today," said Scott Thistle, president of Halen Homes and Harbor Homes. "Covered out- door gathering areas provide additional liv- ing space and increases the home's value. "Halen Homes' Magnolia model embraces this trend with multiple covered porches. Most impressive is the porch, which spans the entire rear of the home with a sunroom on one end and a screen porch on the other. It's perfect for making the most of out of outdoor living." Aspen Homes owner Shelly Basso also believes the parade will capture the trends seen in model include entertainment space such as outdoor living and home/school office. "Our model has an open concept and warm touches such as wood beams, hickory flooring and barn doors," Basso said. Harbor Homes has tried to come up with a hybrid of sorts, combining traditional charm with contemporary allure. "More and more customers are looking for new construction with character," This- tle said. "We're seeing customers ask for more personalization and things you might see in an older existing home. "Things like built-ins, brick walls, formal foyer and custom woodwork are becoming regular requests. In the Magnolia, we've modernized the floor plan while keeping the old-world charm you would expect to find in a southern colonial." Nonn's is the presenting sponsor of the 2020 BBA Virtual Parade of Homes. The Parade is a nationally recognized event that started locally in the 1940s and features some of the premier subdivisions and model homes of this region. The event serves as part of the MBA's public identity as a showcase of the best it has to offer. Builders will still be opening their Parade models to the public with limited capacities per home. Open hours and appointment information may be found on individual builder websites.
