The Daily Star, Oneonta, N.Y., Friday, July 24, 2020 20 By Rachel Jones TV Media Fur-ever friends: HBO Max has obtained the U.S. streaming rights for British television show "The Dog House," but they're not alone. Many other streaming services and television chan- nels around the world have obtained rights, or are work- ing on obtaining the rights, to the series as well. The show is set in a rural British dog rescue center, and every animal in the center has a story to tell. "The Dog House" records the arrival of unwanted pets and their tales of abandonment. While each of these animals arrives and begins its stay at the rescue center, the show tells the story of humans who long to be joined by a new four-legged friend. Each hope- ful human dreams of the trans- formation to their life that will occur with the addition of a pet to their family. Hail Mary: "Last Chance U" is a show that gives struggling athletes a second chance to prove that they can make it at an NCAA Division I school. The series, which premiered back in 2015, focuses on all aspects of the football program at a com- munity college. It follows play- ers at Division I schools who are struggling to find their place and keep up with the ac- ademic demands, and you can watch the fifth season starting Tuesday, July 28, on Netflix. The football players are tak- en from prestigious schools and enrolled in a community college. They have a chance to work with an academic coun- selor who helps them turn their grades around. The goal is not only to help the players reboot their report cards, but to have them graduate on time. These football players often come from severely disadvantaged backgrounds, so their struggle (and the drama) is real. On the field, the players are given the opportunity to work with the head coach, Buddy Stephens. He is often seen struggling to keep his temper in check while attempting to pass on both his football wis- dom and devout Christian faith to the boys under his tutelage. realtalk Some of the stars of "The Dog House" B/The Pine Shoppe 6x7.5
