The Press-Dispatch Wednesday, July 22, 2020 B-3 when he said, "The ACLU is the most dangerous organi- zation currently operating in America." We should applaud leaders who speak out against abortion, sexual immorality, drugs and alcohol abuse. We live in a dangerous world, but most people fail to see the re- al dangers. I have spoken with many pastors who would rather be liked than right. It is truth that sets people free and the Gos- pel truth should be faithfully proclaimed in every church. It is so easy to forget and drift away from truth. We need to hear more about faith, truth, and peace with God. Novem- ber 3rd may determine the fu- ture of freedom of religion in America. VIEWPOINT Continued from page 1 MINUTES Continued from page 1 RAMBLINGS Continued from page 1 it lacked the person to person contact you get from being closer to your audience. Stepping back to the county wide yard sale I have to com- mend people on their conduct and driving because there was some really friendly and nice people at our sale. The world still has many great folks here and I sure am glad to be among such good people. Sunday afternoon the Flat Creek Association Board of Christian Education met and we discussed many items which needed attention. Our board tries to meet on a reg- ular basis so we don't get swamped by an overload of needs. I feel blessed to be part of the groups I am involved in because I feel like I'm accom- plishing something for our Lord. It is a great honor to able to help someone share their love for Jesus. Velpen General Baptist Church was asked to be in wor- ship with the Littles General Baptist church as their pastor was going to be out of town Sunday. I was asked to bring the morning message. Our les- son/message concerned our obligations to God. There are several we discussed but two of the major ones were to be repentant or sorry for our sins and thankful for saving grace. The second was to bring glory and honor to God our Father. We also mentioned that God has created each of us to be what He wanted us to be and that is what makes up our char- acter in His world. I suppose at times I am a character, but that is not what I'm talking about here because your character is the part of you God can use to inspire others to become bet- ter Christians. Well about it for now so don't forget about being a blessing and stop looking for someone to help just be ready to help the people God puts in your life daily. "Let a man so consider us, as servants of Christ and stew- ards of the mysteries of God" (I Corinthians 4:1). A steward has a lot of respon- sibility. He or she cares not just for the property, but its use, purpose, growth, development and support, plus the same for the people who are on it or con- nected to it. They are also ac- countable to the owner. We are stewards of a mys- tery, something not obvious to everyone and disbelieved by others. Convincing is not al- ways effective. More results are seen when clues are given out at regular intervals, which lead to their unfolding of the answers themselves and a be- lief in the evidence they've un- covered. This is why my behavior and growth in my walk with the Lord is so important. It's easi- er to exhibit what has been ex- perienced, and can become the hope of something better to be attained. This relationship fills us with hope, joy, peace and love, which are the best clues dis- played in our lives, because when our Master returns, He will be looking for those things at work in us. "Anyone who says, 'I am in the light,' while holding hatred in his heart toward a fellow be- liever is still in darkness. But the one who truly loves a fellow believer lives in the light, and there is nothing in him that will cause someone else to stumble. But whoever hates a fellow be- liever lives in the darkness– stumbling around in the dark with no clue where he is going, for he is blinded by the dark- ness" (I John 2:9 -11). • Prophetic worship this Wednesday evening from 6:30 - 8 p.m. • Trail Life for boys, first- 12th grades, will be the first and third Wednesday of each month from 6:30 -8 p.m. • Youth group, Thursdays from 7-8:30 p.m. for sixth-12th grades. • Men's ministry meets Thursday evening, July 30 at 6:30 p.m. Check the website for loca- tion and time for upcoming events, www.livingfc.org. So many trials come into our lives and along with the busi- ness of life. These things can easily choke out the Life of God in us. But praise God, "But seek ye first the Kingdom of God, and His righteousness; and all these things will be added unto you" (Matthew 6:33). What things will be added? Wednesday at 7 p.m. The Gospel Center invites you to worship the King of Kings with us every Sunday. You will hear sound biblical and applicable preaching each week. At the Gospel Center, you will find God-loving peo- ple who desire to serve and praise God with their heart, soul, mind and strength. Come and praise the King with us. We would be hon- ored to have you come and join us and see what God is doing here at the Gospel Center Church. Rodney Fretwell, Sr. Pastor universal, this does not mean that all will be saved. The Bi- ble teaches it is necessary for the sinner to repent of sins, and to believe on the Lord Je- sus Christ to salvation. We read that "He came unto his own, and his own received him not. But as many as re- ceived him, to them he gave power to become the sons of God" ( John 1:11-12). Chad Searls, Pastor all. We sing "We're Marcing to Zion" but fail to march to wor- ship or Sunday school. We sing "Cast Thy Burden on the Lord" and worry ourselves into a ner- vous breaddown. We sing "The Whole Wide World for Jesus" and never invite our next-door neighbor. We sing "Throw Out the Lifeline" and content our- selves with throwing out a fish- ing line. Whom are we fooling?
