Stam See VIEWPOINT on 3 The attacks on Christianity and the churches' failure to teach God's Word, both negative and positive, is our greatest crisis. There is a great falling away from the simple Gospel message of Christ and The Ten Commandments. Added to this are the many media, government and AC- LU attacks on Christianity. On June 16th the Su- preme Court ruled against a major teaching of the Bible. Christ is no longer welcomed in the public square and His presence is not felt in many plac- es of worship. A holy war is being waged against Gospel preaching churches along with religion in our schools and government. The crisis of faith in God is bigger than the Covid-19 plague or socialism. It is more danger- ous than the multi-tril- lion-dollar deficit, more dangerous than the riot- ing and destroying our cities. The Bible says, "Bless- ed is the nation whose God is the Lord." America needs a spiritual rebirth. We must guard our great religious heritage. If pas- tors fail to do it then lay- men should. The media constantly distorts con- servative Christian values. Bill O'Reilly was right "For this cause I bow my knees unto the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ" (Eph. 3: 14). When adversity strikes, the world keeps tell- ing us: "Don't let it get you down," but believers in the Lord Jesus Christ have learned that it is good to let troubles and difficulties get them down — down on their knees. A native evangelist in A frica sat outside his hut discouraged and unhappy. Trouble and dis- appointment had brought "great coldness" into his heart and he seemed ready to give up. The Lord, he felt, had utterly forsaken him. As he sat there, though, his little girl kept nudging him and saying: "Daddy, go inside and pray ." Final- ly it worked! The evangelist went inside, poured his heart out to God and arose feeling sure that the Lord would see him through. It is good for us to get down on our knees be- fore God. There is no attitude more appropriate to the redeemed sinner. And as we pray, often falteringly…. "The Spirit also helpeth our infirmities; for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit Himself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. "And He that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because He ma- keth intercession for the saints according to the will of God. "And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are Hi readers, I hope you are all doing well. During this past week end's county-wide yard sale I seen another of my old work mates. I talked with Maurice Beck for awhile and we reminisced about some of the things we had seen when we were working. We both agreed that as long as we kept getting retirement checks we would just be happy to let them run the plant and we would just enjoy retirement. Maurice didn't have a nick name as far as I can remember, just Beck or Maurice. It was good to see him and share for awhile. I pray good bless- ings on he and his family. Last Monday my wife went to the doctor for a check-up and came home with a prescription for her cholesterol because it was a little elevated. I'm trying to get her to get more exercise but she says that she gets plenty of exercise watching the grandkids. Work does help you stay active, but to exercise you need to dedicate a movement to tar- get certain areas so muscles work and some way to get your heart rate higher so you are getting the blood to flowing better. Exercise makes you feel better as you become accustomed to doing it. Steve and I were able to practice last Tuesday night and we would sure love to entertain some- where as we are hungry to play and sing for peo- ple. We haven't been able to entertain since the world was placed under the pandemic protocol. Well we did set up our equipment one afternoon in our driveway and sing to our neighbors but Continued on page 2 Continued in next column CHURCH CHURCH Notes Notes Notes KEEPS US MOVING.
