Entertainment NOW

Entertainment Now | July 18 - 24, 2020 By Rachel Jones TV Media Extreme Therapy: Channel your spirituality with nine real people, nine real stories and lots of real-life lessons from the new reality series, "Lost Resort," pre- miering Thursday, July 23 on TBS. "Lost Resort" is a social exper- iment with an all-stranger cast, trying to survive their breaking points en route to self-discovery. Now, it's up to them to rebuild their lives over a 10-episode re- treat at a wellness center in the tropical jungles of Costa Rica. Helping them through their journey are extreme spiritual therapists who push them to con- front their demons in the most unorthodox ways, from induced hysterics to orgasmic dance. As emotions fly and walls collapse, the group is led to new and unex- pected awakenings of restored trust, bestowed forgiveness and restrained anger. While far from new, the self- help concept behind "Lost Re- sort" takes an exotic twist by drawing on the rising subculture of destination wellness retreats, where people rely on idyllic back- drops to help them heal their in- nermost selves. The series takes us into that exact world, which has been described as "exclusive, explosive and often hilariously experimental" by TBS executive vice-president and unscripted programming head Corie Hen- son. "Lost Resort" is helmed by the crew behind "The Real House- wives of New Jersey," the fourth installment of The Real House- wives franchise. Watch the pre- miere episode of "Lost Resort" when it airs Thursday, July 23, on TBS. Shark Watch: NatGeo contin- ues to sizzle with its summer shark showdown, opening with a brand new set of gripping tales from the underwater. Bull sharks are some of the most majestic yet fearsome creatures of the wild, but be- yond that are just fish trying to live their lives, hunting and mi- grating any given day. Join biol- ogist Ryan Daly as he follows these sharks and tries to unlock the key to keeping us, humans, below their radar in "Raging Bull Shark." Tales of the Bermuda Triangle have always teased into the un- known, but for biologist Austin Gallagher, it's no more than a secret breeding ground for tiger sharks to be explored in "Sharks of the Bermuda Triangle." For years, Gallagher has been track- ing a particularly elusive tiger shark named Mabel while trying to unravel the mystery of the world's most notorious triangle. In "Shark vs. Whale," marine biologist Ryan Johnson had never seen a great white shark adroitly drown a humpback whale before. When he caught one during a routine drone survey in South Af- rica, he immediately shifted his focus on the migratory patterns of humpback whales, where they are most vulnerable, and why sharks attack them. "What the Shark" explores the deeper and darker realms of the sea, where predators can fall prey to grubby waters and flesh- busting pressure levels, all in the name of survival. NatGeo's deepest forays into the abyss will expose sharks' adaptation skills at their most extreme. Don't forget! Catch NatGeo's "Raging Bull Shark" on Sunday, July 19; "Sharks of the Bermuda Triangle" on Monday, July 20; "Shark vs. Whale" on Tuesday, July 21; and "What the Shark" on Wednesday, July 22.
