Cline, 22, graduated in May from Ball State Univer- sity, where she earned a bachelor's degree in journalism and telecommunications. She has worked at the Ball State Daily News in Muncie as a reporter and editor, and she has also worked at the Indiana Daily Student in Bloomington as a beat reporter. Born and raised in Hartford City, Cline enjoys reading, gaming and spending time with her 8-year-old border collie, Beauty. — Commercial Review (Portland) This month, The Wabash Plain Dealer cut back the print produc- tion of the paper to Wednesday and Saturday.. "The most basic function of local journalism is to provide residents with news across a range of topics in a way that helps them stay informed and take part in the community," wrote Publisher Linda Kelsay and editor Rob Burgess in a letter to readers. "That won't change." — Wabash Plain Dealer Wabash Plain Dealer cuts back to twice per week print production in July Peru Tribune goes to two days per week As of the week of July 13. The Huntington Herald-Press reduced its print publication to twice per week on Wednesdays and Saturdays. "Local newspapers have always been at the center of the community dialog," said Publisher Linda Kelsay,and Editor James Ehle in a letter to readers. "We are committed to keeping you informed on local government matters, where your tax dollars are going and all of the challenges that face our community. .— The Huntington Herald- Press Huntington Herald-Press reducing print publication to Wednesday, Saturday IBJ won 10 national journalism awards for news coverage in 2019—one gold, six silver and three bronze honors—in the Alliance of Area Business Publications' annual Editorial Excellence competition. The gold medal recognized IBJ's efforts in covering Roger Penske's acquisition of Indianapolis Motor Speedway. The awards event, which took place virtually this month, recognized print and online writing, photography and design by regional business publications. IBJ competes in the largest publications category against business journals in Chicago, Detroit, New Orleans, Dallas and other major cities. Two dozen judges from the Uni- versity of Missouri's School of Journalism evaluated 448 entries overall from 34 publications from the United States, Canada and Australia. The judges commended IBJ's "expansive content that reaches into the corners of transportation, technology, sports, health, higher education, civic affairs, state government and more." In particular, the judges noted IBJ's Innovation Issue as well as coverage of cancer research at Eli Lilly and Co. and the Capital Improvement Board's deal with Pacers Sports & Entertainment to expand Bankers Life Fieldhouse. — Indianapolis Business Journal In July, the Peru Tribune reduced it print production schedule to Wednesday and Saturdays. "While other communities may have alternative sources of journalism, the bulk of the reporting serving our local communities have traditionally been provided by local newspapers," said Publisher Linda Kelsay and Editor Jared Keever. It is a thirteen-episode podcast chronicling Ernie Pyle's pre-war work as a travelling columnist for the Scripps-Howard Newspaper syndicate. Ernie and his wife, Jerry, travelled America from 1935-1942, in quest of interesting stories for his column, and its never-ending deadline.
