Poplar Street, Petersburg Deadline: 5 p.m. on Monday CYNTHIA LOU MARCHBANKS Cynthia Lou Marchbanks, 62, of Petersburg, passed away July 9, 2020, at her residence in Petersburg. She was born July 14, 1957, in Indianapolis, to Wiley and Dixie Marchbanks. She graduated from Pike Central High School in 1975. She was a longtime member of the Maple Grove Pentecostal Church. She was a Secretary for the First Baptist Church of Petersburg. She was very well- known in the area for her cake baking. She is survived by her twin sister, Sandy Marchbanks; sisters, Kathy (Ronnie) Fick- lin, of Petersburg, and Patty (Mark) Tegmeyer, of Peters- burg; nephews, Ryan Ficklin, Evan (Carly) Tegmeyer and Owen Tegmeyer. She was preceded in death by her parents; and brother, Michael Lee Marchbanks. Graveside services were at 2 p.m. EDT on Saturday, July 11, 2020, at Walnut Hills Cem- etery in Petersburg, with Pas- tor Ronnie Ficklin will offici- ating. A walk-through visitation was from 10 a.m.-1:30 p.m. EDT on Saturday at Harris Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Indiana Right to Life. Harris Funer- al Home was entrusted with her care. JACQUELINE FAITH KING Jacqueline Faith King, 63, of Petersburg, passed away July 9, 2020, in Petersburg. She was born October 10, 1956, in Washington, to Jack and Lois King. She worked as a cashier at Walmart for many years. She is survived by her sis- ter, Lana (Dene) Bartley; niec- es and nephews, Charity (Cur- tis) Howard, Courtney (Andy) Froehle, Candace ( Jerry) Hall, Alaina (Tom) Griggs and Seth (Leah) Bartley; great-nieces and great-nephews, Connor Hall, Lillian Hall, Haven Lon- gest, Owen Longest, Grey Froehle, Violet Froehle, Wes- ley Griggs, Jackson Howard and Matthew Howard. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jack and Lo- is King. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. on Saturday, July 18, 2020, at Walnut Hills Ceme- tery in Petersburg. Visitation will be from 10 a.m.-1:30 p.m. on Satur- day at Harris Funeral Home in Petersburg. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, masks and social distancing are re- quired and the public is asked to supply their own masks and keep a 6 ft. distance from oth- ers. Harris Funeral Home is entrusted with her care. WILLIAM EUGENE HOLLAND William Eugene Holland, 71, of Petersburg, passed away July 9, 2020, at his residence. He was born September 24, 1948, in Washington, to Wil- liam and Vonnie Jean (Ropp) Holland. He served proudly in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War. He was a member of the Knox County Marine Corp League, and a member and deacon of the Immanuel Baptist Church in Petersburg. He worked as a city letter carrier and retired from the United States Post- al Service. He is survived by his wife, Shirley Holland; son, William Donald Holland; daughter, Lori Holland; granddaughter, Allie Holland; mother, Vonnie Jean Holland; brother, Mil- ton Holland; and sister, Patty Weathers. He was preceded in death by his father, William Mari- on Holland; and sister, Linda Ropp. Graveside services were at 12:30 p.m. EDT on Mon- day, July 13, 2020, at Walnut Hills Cemetery in Petersburg. Military funeral honors were performed by the Petersburg VFW at the graveside. A walk-through visitation was from 10 a.m.-noon EDT on Monday at Harris Funeral Home. Harris Funeral Home was entrusted with his care. DENNIS RICHARD PEA Dennis Richard Pea, 71, passed away on July 7, 2020, at his residence in Monroe City. He was born on May 8, 1949, the son of Ival and Mary Alice Whitington. He married Me- linda Hedge on December 11, 2013. He had been warehouse manager at Henderson Trans- fer. He loved his family and grandchildren very much, and enjoyed collecting old model cars. Survivors include his wife, Melinda Pea, of Monroe City; his children, Dennis (Lacy) Pea, of Princeton, Krys- tal (Perry) Walton, of Mon- roe City, Keya Holzmiller, of Washington, Heath Holzmill- er, of Monroe City, and Hay- ley Hamm, of Wheatland; and nine grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; and one broth- er, Stanley Pea. A Celebration of Life Ser- vice will be at 2 p.m. on Satur- day, July 18, 2020, at the First Wesleyan Church of Bick- nell, 315 N. Murlin St. Good- win-Sievers Funeral Home is honored to assist the Pea fam- ily with arrangements. EDWIN L. KIRK Edwin "Ed" L. Kirk, 86, of Monroe City, passed away at 7:35 a.m. on Wednesday, Ju- ly 1, 2020, at Good Samaritan Hospital. He was born February 20, 1934, in Vincennes, to Charles and Ida (Blaise) Kirk. He worked as a carpenter and mason for many years. A Decker High School grad- uate of 1952, he received the Outstanding Alumni Award in 2000. He was a member of the Trinity United Method- ist Church that merged with Community United Methodist Church, and he taught Sunday School for over 40 years. He was also one of the founding members of the Knox Coun- ty Habitat for Humanity and belonged to the Monroe City Service Club. He served in the Army, and he was known for his philanthropic art of send- ing cards. He enjoyed writing memoirs, extensively about his life and faith. Surviving are his wife, Bar- bara (Clinkenbeard) Kirk, whom he married on April 1, 1956; his sons, Christopher (Nicole), of Washington, and Craig (Debbie) Kirk, of Vin- cennes; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchil- dren. Preceding him in death were his parents; brothers, Marvin, Harold, Kenneth and Charles Kirk; and sisters, Irene, Merle Jean Buxton and Alta Cook. Funeral services were at 3 p.m. on Monday, July 6, 2020, at Community United Method- ist Church, with Ray Tromley and Rev. Darren Williams of- ficiating. Burial was private. Visitation was from 11 a.m. until service time on Monday at the church. Memorial con- tributions may be directed to the South Knox Education Foundation or the Communi- ty United Methodist Church Prayer Garden. JANALENE CONDER TODD Janalene Conder Todd, 82, passed away peacefully on Ju- ly 3, 2020, at The Heritage Center in Evansville. She was born on April 25, 1938, in Princeton, to Thelma Hubbard Conder and Ancil Conder, of Oakland City. She worked many years as a custodian at Pike Central High School before retiring. She enjoyed gardening, her pets and going to church at the Oakland City Church of Christ. She is survived by her son, Alan (Karol) Todd, of El Ca- jon, Calif.; her daughter, Lisa Todd, of Evansville; her sister, Becky Conder Dill, of Ander- son; a niece; and her brother, Lyle ( Jane) Conder, of Pana- ma City Beach, Fla. She was preceded in death by her parents; and her hus- band, Kenneth Todd, of Winslow, in 2008. Private graveside services will be at a later date. Clark, 81, of Wash- ington, passed away at 10 :10 p.m. on Tuesday, July 7, 2020, at Emerald House in Wash- ington. She was born October 14, 1938, in Washington, to Clif- ford and Hazel (Tomey) Wrat- ten. She was a member of the Wesley United Methodist Church, loved her grandchil- dren, and enjoyed working in her flower garden. She had worked for Dr. Shelton and most recently for WIC. Surviving are her chil- dren, Julie (Bill) Mize, of Vin- cennes, and Jeff ( Joni) Clark, of Petersburg; a sister, Jane Goodrid, of Washington; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; and her hus- band, George Rogers Clark, who preceded her in death on July 20, 2008. Graveside services were at 11 a.m. on Friday, July 10, 2020, at Mt. Calvary Ceme- tery. Goodwin-Sievers Funer- al Home was honored to serve the family of Judy Clark. MARSHA BLAKE Marsha Blake, 66, of Wash- ington, went to be with Je- sus at 6:45 p.m. on March 22, 2020, at the IU Methodist Hos- pital in Indianapolis. She was born to Brayton and Imogene (Krodel) Thompson on March 26, 1953, in Wash- ington. She married the love of her life, James R. Blake, on Nov. 27, 1971. She was a member of the Twin Oaks Holiness Church in Petersburg and loved Je- sus. She lived life to the full- est, loved laughing and did it often. She loved playing games, telling jokes, hosting parties for family and friends, and antiquing anywhere their travels took them. She had the awesome privilege of staying home and raising her girls. Christmas traditions, fami- ly vacations and special fam- ily gatherings were a priority for her. She is survived by her lov- ing husband, Jim, of Wash- ington; her daughters, De- nise Bittinger, of Indianap- olis; Nicole (Stephen) Cas- sady, of Beavertown, Penn.; five grandchildren; and sib- lings, Annette Thompson and Angela Mickelson. She was preceded in death by her parents; and sister, Di- ane (Thompson) Ross. A private funeral and burial was on March 25, 2020. A Cel- ebration of Life Service will be at 10 a.m. on July 18, 2020, at the Twin Oaks Church, 1911 E. CR 650 N., Petersburg.
