So many trials come into our lives and along with the business of life. These things can easily choke out the Life of God in us. But praise God, "But seek ye first the King- dom of God, and His righ- teousness; and all these things will be added unto you" (Matthew 6:33). What things will be add- ed? God's order back into our lives—a peace that pass- es all understanding—He is in control. Facebook: White River Chapel UMC, Jeff Pinney. Sunday morning worship at 10 :15 a.m.; Sunday school at 11 a.m. We are back to having Sunday services. Jesus spoke in Matthew 17:17 that they were a faith- less and perverse genera- tion. These words apply to- day to so much of the body of Christ. Faithless means what it says, no faith. No faith to believe that we can see signs, wonders, and mir- acles today. Perverse means that they were of a world- ly nature, which is true to- day again of so many in the body of Christ. Focused on the world and what they can receive. They have be- come more concerned with satisfying the flesh instead of feeding the spirit. God's Word declared it and it is true. I pray that those who read this will stir their faith and feed the spirit man. It is possible. Keep our president, vice-president and the cab- inet in your prayers to make the right decisions. Remem- ber those in the hospitals and nursing homes, who are in a place of no family or friends coming to visit. Also pray for families, your friends and neighbors that do not know Jesus as their Lord and Saviour, and for revival fire to begin to burn fresh and anew. In His Service, George Bruce, Jr., Pastor Presbyterian Wesleyan MAIN STREET PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH 10th and Main Streets, Petersburg 812-354-6844 Sunday worship 10 :30 a.m. Come visit us, our doors are al- ways open to you. Literature, painting, music — the most basic lesson that all art teaches us is to stop, look and listen to life on this planet, in- cluding our own lives, as a vast- ly richer, deeper, more mysteri- ous business than most of the time it ever occurs to us to sus- pect as we bumble along from day to day on automatic pilot. When Jesus [says] that the greatest command of all is to love God and to love our neigh- bor, he too is asking us to pay attention. If we are to love God, we must first stop, look and lis- ten for him in what is happen- ing around us and inside us. If we are to love our neighbors, before doing anything else we must see our neighbors. With our imagination as well as our eyes, that is to say like artists, we must see not just their fac- es but the life behind and within their faces. Here it is love that is the frame we see them in.
