A native of Gaston County, she was the daughter of the late Daniel and Macie Scism Bridges. Bea was a member of Patterson Grove Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Warlick; sister, Patsy Carver; and brothers, Paul and Allan Bridges. She is survived by her son, Chuck Warlick and wife Faye of Lincolnton; daughters, Debbie Berry and husband Charlie, Linda Warlick and Brenda Ferreira and husband Tom, all of Kings Mountain; brother, J.P. Bridges and wife Mary of Bessemer City; grandchildren, Amanda Williams, Suzanne Poston, Josh Ferreira, and Jennifer Ferriera; and great grand- children, Levi, Luke, Emily, Harper and Stella. Online condolences: www. claybarnette.com. BARBARA DeVENNY YARBORO Barbara DeVenny Yarboro, age 84 of Pinedale Road, Lincolnton, NC, passed away Friday, June 19, 2020 at Testa Family Hospice. She was born August 19, 1935 in Lincoln County to the late Harlan A. DeVenny and Ada P. DeVenny. Barbara resided in Cleveland County and graduated from Waco High School in 1953 with the honor of Salutatorian of Chris Mote, both of Kings Mountain; brothers, Ronnie Green and Larry Greene and wife JoAnn, both of Kings Mountain and Rev. Adam Green and wife Melinda of Grover; grandchildren, Michael Mote, Laura "Sissy" Mode, Samantha Mote and Christopher Mote; and many great grandchildren. Funeral services were held 2pm, Monday, June 22, 2020, at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home Chapel in Kings Mountain, with the Rev. John Freeman offici- ating. Online condolenc- es: www.claybarnette.com CAROL GERALDINE GRIFFIN RABB Carol Geraldine Griffin Rabb, age 82, died Friday, June 19, 2020 at Hospice Wendover. Born in Cleveland County on December 25, 1937, she was the daughter of the late William "Bill" Griffin and Ethel Harris Griffin. She was a long time member of New Bethel Church of Shelby where she taught Sunday school, served on the church board for more than 20 years and was a member of the Jolly Elders as well as the Red Hat soci- ety. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Gerald Rabb and her sister Annie Argie Barker. Carol is survived by her three children; Wanda Fischbach and husband Fred of Boiling Springs Keith Rabb and wife Lori of Shelby, and Gwen Ledford and husband Mike of Boiling Springs, seven grandchil- dren; Sajid Khan (Jackie), Mariam Lackey (Cody), Yasmeen Khan, Tyler Rabb, Holly Rabb, Caleb Smith, and Cody Smith as well as seven great-grandchildren. Funeral Service was held 2:00 pm Monday, June 22, 2020 at New Bethel Church of Shelby with Rev. Mark Patchett officiating, burial fol- lowed in Sunset Cemetery. CATHERINE "GRANNY" CLEMENTINE SCRUGGS GREENE Mooresboro - Catherine "Granny" Clementine Scruggs Greene, 99, of Mooresboro, NC went to her heavenly home June 15, 2020. She was a genu- ine sweet Christian woman. She couldn't hear too good but her mind was sharp. She had been in a nursing home since the end of January. The COVID-19 lock down had prevented visits since late February and we were all sad. Granny was in the hospital, then hospice for the last week of her life and that allowed family to spend nearly every waking moment by her side. She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert Cicero Greene; par- ents, Thomas and Nora Harris Scruggs; brothers, Theron, Carlos, Jack & Glen Scruggs; sisters, Louise Connor and Nellie Moore; son-in-law, Clyde Harris. She is survived by her daughter, Carolyn Harris; grand-daughters, Cheryl Griffin and husband Tim of Kings Mountain, Dawn Alexander and husband Richard of Mooresboro; many cherished grand- children whom she lov- ingly babysat when they were small – Brittany her graduating class. She attended Howard's Business School in Shelby, NC and worked at Mauney Cotton Company in Cherryville, NC, and J.B. Hamrick Accounting in Shelby, NC. She was a member of Waco Baptist Church and taught Sunday School in the Primary Department for many years. She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Allen Yarboro of the home; a daughter, Frances A. Yarboro (Johnny Harrison) of Ellenboro, and two sons, Allen James Yarboro, Jr and wife Julia of Franklin, NC, and Douglas D. Yarboro of Mount Airy, NC; a sister- in-law, Cerelda Brady of Shelby, NC; two grand- sons, Clinton J. Yarboro of Walkertown, NC, Mason Abernathy of Shelby, NC, and a granddaughter, Layla Yarboro of Canton, NC; a great-grandson, Jaxson Yarboro of Walkertown, NC. LAURA "SAM" MOTE Kings Mountain: Laura "Sam" Mote, 68, died Thursday, June 18, 2020, at Atrium Health in Kings Mountain. A native of Cleveland County, she was the daughter of the late Donald and Bessie Lovelace Green. She was a mem- ber of Cornerstone Church of God. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Pat Passmore. Born in Cleveland County, on September 5, 1934, she was the daughter of the late Cam Pierson Brittain and Lennie Mae Hill Brittain. She was a homemaker and member of Fallston Baptist Church. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband Howard "Pete" Thomas and brother, Wayne Brittain. She is survived by her brother, CP "Buddy" Brittain.
