Teams competed in female 30 and under, Male 31 to 60 and also 61-90. Each runner of the two-person team al- ternates completing a mile to finish the six-mile course. Combining par- ticipants ages places them in an age group. Teams can be both male and female. The course record set in 2018 by Nate Woolery and Draven Huff (32:58) for 31-60 ages held up, but the 61-90 male race record was bro- ken by Tim Roman and Jim Turpen, clocking 34:58. Woolery and Huff had averaged 5:30 miles for their 32:58 record. Cain Parker soloed the 31-60 male course with several sub five-minute miles and finished in 38.03. Xavery Weisman and Kennedy Willis ran first in the under 30 female event, clocking a 39:49. The pair set the record in 2019 with a time of 39:15. Greg Loveless and Brian Willis ran a 38:42 in the males 61-90 age bracket. Seven runners participated in the Hokum Karem run on Saturday, June 20 at Hornady Park. The run is a tag-team event in which pairs of runners run alternating one-mile laps in the park for a six-mile total. Participants were, front row (l to r): Jim Turpin and Tim Roman, of Evansville, and Kennedy Willis and Xavery Weisman, both of Petersburg; back row: Cain Parker, of Petersburg, who ran solo, and Greg Loveless and Brian Willis, both of Petersburg. Cain Parker, of Petersburg, ran the entire six- mile event without a teammate. Four Chargers participate in College Showcase Pike Central Lady Charger head softball coach Stephanie Richardson reports that four Lady Charger softball players partic- ipated in the Indiana Elite North verses South College Showcase softball game at Chuck Klein Softball Complex in India- napolis. The purpose of the game was to expose girls interested in playing college softball to scouts and recruiters. The Pike Central girls played in the South Class 3A team. Pictured left to right: Madelyn Fis- cus, Hailie Bailey, coach Stephanie Rich- ardson, Chloe Williams and Alyna Sharp. Richardson said, "Bailey went three of three and played infield. Sharp was three and three with a triple and played out- field. Williams was three for four with a triple and was on the mound and first base. Fiscus hit some hard line shots right at a couple of players. She caught, played third and shortstop and also went error- less in the field." Richardson added, "I coached the 3A North team, so it was a lot of fun getting to be on the field with the Pike Central girls even though we were playing against each other. The girls represented the South team and Pike Central well. I was so proud of all of them."
