Viola was born February 14th, 1925 in Shelby to the late Ambrose and Lydia Early and was a member of Pleasant City Church. She retired from PPG Industries in Shelby. Viola loved the Lord and her family deeply. Viola will be cherished and is preceded in death by her loving husband, Columbus Johnson. She is survived by her twin sister, Violet Moore, and her sister Nydia Morris. She is also survived by her children, Norma Frady and husband Mike, and Jim Upton and wife Kaye; Grandchildren- Lance Frady (Caroline) Leah Wray (Johnny), Angela McKee (Steve) and Kelly Upton (Stephanie); Great Grandchildren- Seth Frady, Kyle Wray (Kaylin) Mackenzie Wray, Makayla Wray, Kami Wray, Mariah McKee, Marcus McKee, Austin McKee, Spencer Upton and Carter Vincent; Great Great Grandchild – Emery Wray. ing, basketball and tennis games on TV with family and friends. On the evening of April 8th, 2020, the Lord took Roger home to his final rest- ing place. Leaving to mourn his memory are his mother Carol, his brother Calvin, sisters, Shawana and Nija. Also, his children, Darrius, Savannah and Ryan, three aunts and four uncles. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was extremely close to his cous- in, Gerard, who misses him daily. JIMMY WILLIAMS Blacksburg- Jimmy Williams, 32, passed away suddenly on Wednesday, June 3 2020 in Blacksburg. Born in Gastonia, he was the husband of Brittany Williams and to this union one son was born, Christopher Williams. Jimmy enjoyed outdoor activities and work- ing on vehicles during his spare time. He was previ- ously employed at Kebo's Tires and Alignments. He was preceded in death by his mother, Elaine Williams. In addition to his wife and son, he is survived by his father, Ronnie Williams (Sharon Jackson), two Brothers; Daniel Williams and Gregory Williams, two sisters; Teresa Pruitt and Paula Williams, Grandparents; Jimmy and Edith Williams and a host of relatives and friends. Funeral Services were held on Tuesday, June 9, 2020 at 1 pm at Gordon Mortuary. Interment followed at Mountain View Cemetery. JAMES ROBERT LOVELACE James Robert Lovelace, age 78 of Grover, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, June 6, 2020. He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Patricia "Doodle" Lovelace of the home, his chil- dren, Scott Lovelace (Susan) of Belwood, NC, Sharon Addison (Chris) of Grover, NC, Lisa Waters (Jack) of Lawndale, NC, and Rev. Mickey Pruitt (Peggy) of Dallas, NC, six- teen grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren, two great great grandchildren, two sis- ters, Julie Oliver of Grover, NC, and Bertha Truelove of Grover, NC, a brother, Fred Lovelace (Libby) of Grover, NC, and numerous nieces and nephews. Born June 17, 1941 in Cleveland County, James was the son of the late David Sankie Lovelace and Minnie Rosell Causby Lovelace and was preceded in death by two granddaughters, Shayla Moore and Brandy Bradley, three sis- ters, Eveline Hamrick, Ruth Guiton, and Viola Myers, and a brother, Charles Lovelace. James, affectionately known as "Baw", was a loving hus- band, father, grandfather, and brother. He was a charter member of Grace Covenant Church of God. He enjoyed working in his shop, watching birds, and spending time with his family and friends, espe- cially his grandchildren. ROGER SHAMONE THOMPSON R o g e r S h a m o n e Thompson was born in Brooklyn, NY on April 5, 1972 to his surviving moth- er, Carol Harrington and deceased father James Harrington. Roger graduated from Murray Bergman High School in N.Y. He also did a year at N.Y.U. college. Then he went on to pursue his career, patrol officer for MTA Bridges & Tunnel. In his spare time, he enjoyed spending time with his fam- ily, celebrating birthdays & holidays. He also enjoyed going to amusement parks, backyard barbecues and also enjoyed the casinos, fishing, watching box- KENNETH PAIGE CASH Kenneth Paige Cash, 83, of Kings Mountain, NC, passed away on June 06, 2020 at Testa Hospice House in Kings Mountain, NC. He was born in Cleveland County, NC, to the late Vera Cole Cash and was preceded in death by his brother Randy Cash. Ken attended Patterson Grove Baptist Church. He proudly served his country as a member of the US Air Force and retired as a supervisor from Firestone after more than twenty years of service. Ken enjoyed watch- ing old westerns, meeting friends for coffee and spend- ing time with his family. He was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather who will be missed dearly by his family and friends. Survivors: Wife of 50 years: Martha Gantt Cash, of the home; Daughter: Kendra C. Beth was born on June 28, 1957 a daughter of the late James Fred Cornwell and Mable Heavner Cornwell. She was a teacher's assis- tant for Lincoln County Schools and a member of Mt. Vernon Baptist Church in Vale. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her best friend, Sheila Rutledge and her beloved dog Cooper. Those left to cherish her memories are her husband Ricky Cooke; daughter, Anissa Cline and husband Dave; daughter, Keri Ann Clinton and husband Terry; son Dustin Hester and wife Taya; stepdaughter, Haley Stamey and husband Jeremy; stepson, Eric Cooke and wife Courtney; grand- children Ashley and Ansley Cline, Emma Grace Clinton, Britton, Blake and Brooke Hester and Jaxon Stamey; very special cousins, Mickey Cornwell, Sally Cornwell, Gay Stone and Kathy Huss.
